Shopped at a BR store yesterday - first time in a long time. Very disappointed. Although I have shopped at BR for many years, I think I have finally aged-out of their clothing lines. This is unfortunate to BR as the 'older' population is growing and many of us do not like shopping at Talbots - we like shopping at stores like BR. Your wide-legged slacks may be a runway favorite, but who is actually wearing them during a regular day? No straight or slightly flared? Also, I have never worn a size 16 in my life, but according to their slacks, the only way one will fit is if I wear a size 16. I'm not buying a size 16. Ever. So au revoir BR.

Now I get notice that you have received " my return"? I never got the package, how did I return it?
I need answers from someone in the US and not lies from someone in the Phillipines!
I will never order or shop with Banana Republic again!

Date of experience: June 21, 2024I placed an order for pants for work on 9/25/22. It is now New Years Eve. Its been over 3 months and no pants, I call to see whats going on or to get a credit so ai can order more pants because I never received them. The tracking says awaiting pick up from carrier so they never left the facility it looks like. I was just told they cannot give me a refund or store credit because its been so long. Whose fault it that? I've been waiting for these to show up. If you're out of stock or theres an issue on your end fix it. Would that let me speak to a manager. I would not order here. They are literally stealing by taking your money and not sending you what you ordered in exchange.

Date of experience: December 31, 2022After years of being a loyal customer I finally have to say that the customer service for returns is very poorly.
Hardly reduced items are final sales and customers are forced to keep their online orders. The prices have increased greatly but not the quality of the clothing. Banana Republic doesn't provide any more a good customer service. There are many more good retailers out there where I will shop from now on.
Date of experience: March 6, 2023BR used to be quite a good company. Now the fabrics are a lower level quality with much less stylish designs. Hold time for a return was long and site didn't allow me to log in for the return. Fashion photos on site are creepy, humanoids instead of down-to-earth humans.

As it turned out id be out of the country for the real delivery date. I contacted customer service to either expedite or hold the shipment, they would do nothing for and had no interest whatsoever in helping. Too many options out there to waste my time and money with them again.

Date of experience: September 11, 2023Banana Republic now has a strict 30-day return policy. This applies to gifts too. So even if you have an item with tags and receipt and it's been 31 days since your purchase, they will not let you exchange or return the item, even for store credit. Considering their price point and target demographic, this is an extremely disappointing policy and well below industry standard. Target has a better return policy. After a decade of exclusively shopping at BR for work clothes, no more.

Date of experience: June 2, 2023I didn't know, banana republic has so lengthy time period for returning of goods and items, it is already more than 1 month, and I had to call more than 3 times to know about the update. And while checking update I can see the package is still in transit not even delivered. Are you kidding me, in one month? Looks like, they only want to push back my reimbursement. Beside that I am finding most of their product that are sale like 50 percent discount, the products are quality less and not reasonable the amount I paid. So, I would like to give only one * to this company.

So I asked her to please confirm that this information is accurate. She talked to me in a very sarcastic way and did not answer my question. You really need to know when your sale begins and ends(your job) and act professionally, lose the sarcasm.

If you clothing won't fit ( you buy online and can't try on) or you change your mind the customer service will tell you that the only option you have is to sell it or donate it to Threat up, which is a form of Good Will. I will be donating my final sale to Good Will because it will take less stress. The jeans sizing at Banana is terrible and inaccurate, they are very big and long so you can never buy your regular size because there is always misfit. I will be shopping at J.Crew and Lululemon where they take final sales for store credit in the case of misfit

I purchased both the suit jacket and pants in a very specific color (sold separately but intended as a set, due to color match) but was informed 5 days later that the jacket was not in inventory.
Since both items were final sale I am now stuck with suit pants that I cannot use as they are not understanding the intention of purchasing these items together. I've been informed there is nothing they are able/willing to do which leaves me stuck and very frustrated with their product and services. I hoped they would have been more understanding to keep their customers satisfied but I suppose it is more important to stick to a company policy than keep future customers.

You can get the same item in other stores at half the price. And get some pretty models back on the pages!

Date of experience: October 8, 2023Majority of my wardrobe was from them. I absolutely loved the style and quality. Within the last few years the quality has decreased and their final sale policy for online orders is absolutely ridiculous. You are taking a major risk by purchasing a product with a price that hasn't reduced that much, knowing that you will have to keep it and absolutely cannot return it. It's a gamble. I don't know whose idea it was to make it so all sales are final, especially online orders when you don't even know if the specific product will fit.

Date of experience: January 30, 2023This brand used to represent luxury, beauty and function in design, and aspirational fashion but sadly it has deteriorated over time specially after Marka Hansen stepped down. Its designs lack inspiration, freshness and edginess and the brand lacks direction and clarity in vision. I don't understand their aesthetics. Their sizing is off, too. Gone are the modern and beautiful designs, replaced by boring and tacky ones.

I had with me my brothers employee discount card and i was willing to use it but then when they told me they can't do it unless the person who owns it is with us. I immediately get that and said no problem i still even purchase what i got. After shortly i came back with my brother as he was around there in outlets and requested if they can refund so that we can use discount card,, she was so rude and unnecessarily was giving lecture and how i can't pay and blah blah when i used the same card many times and she could have told us politely, she was giving so negative vibes,, just because of that lady i am not going to banana republic ever! So disgusted with that $#*!.
Date of experience: October 15, 2022I personally have countless clothing items from this retailer. Cashmere, linen, silks, merino wool, cotton and cotton blends... what's not to love about high quality fabric? And Banana Republic is proud to use them!
Their sizing is always consistent. I've even had my wool blend trousers hemmed for free by their fabulous sales associates right in the store!
Pricing can seem high, but when you consider the quality of the items you're buying, and how many years of uses you'll get out of them (one of my cashmere sweater favorites has lasted me over 11 years!), it's really quite a deal.
Highly recommended for any occasion, every gender and any place!
Date of experience: August 14, 2018I returned 3 of my last purchases but keep trying buying there because the service is just AMAZING. Placed an order at 5 pm, got it shipped to me same night at 9 pm (on Sunday), Monday noon at my door.
It's hard to shop at this website because pictures are so small. They need to at least offer how many pictures you see per column. Need to have more detailed pictures of fabric, buttons and other details.
Otherwise this company has a potential of surviving the China craze.
Date of experience: April 13, 2016A simple chat online to explain pricing that was not going through at check out. Spoke to Nicholas R. Who was not inclined to help or explain what was clearly misrepresented on the item. Stated 50% off but at check out it was 10% off... He pretty much told me to look closer at terms and conditions and as I was typing my next question, he ended the chat! Banana Republic has been slipping in quality a lot in the past few years and their customer service was never top notch, but this was awful. While I love their jewelry, I am done with any of their product.
Date of experience: October 8, 2020I LOVE Banana Republic! The cut, the fabric and the zippers are good. The designs are stylish - very classic yet modern all at once. I find that their pieces are usually good for going out and work wear because the length doesn't get too short. However, the size chart seems inaccurate (especially for the waist). According to the chart, I should be a size 4 or 6 (more like a 6), but 2 seems to fit me the best.
Photos on the site are very reliable as they accurately depict the colours and fit well.
So far, I haven't found the need to return anything, even on my oversized purchases
Shipping is fine. I've always received my items on the promised date. It's easy to get free shipping too!
Prices can be reasonable, making their apparel value for money. I'll definitely buy from them again should I see anything I like on their site.
Tip for consumers:Try your sizes in the actual store first. I made many off purchases because of the size chart.

Date of experience: July 29, 2017I used my Banana Republic card exclusively for the last three months in order to save up points to buy a new winter wardrobe. The clothes are ill fitting and actually quite ugly. The herringbone seafarer pants are massive! According to their description, the model was 5 foot 10. I am 5 foot 10 and thin. The pants definitely don't hang on me like they hung on her. I looked like a clown. They brushed marl pants are nothing more than pajamas and I couldn't possibly be seen in those in public. I didn't notice that the turtleneck description said there was a seam down the back. Who does that? I could find a better style and fit at JCPenney. The only thing worth keeping is The alpaca sweater. It's cuddly soft although a bit scratchy at the same time.
Tip for consumers:Order very carefully And don’t believe that the clothes are going to hang on you like they do the models, even if you’re shaped like a model. Enjoy the quick shipping, though!
Products used:Probably will keep the sweater and turtlenecks since I can always wear a jacket or something to cover up that stupid seam in the back.
