Ordered ceramic bird bath. Packed lousy and arrived broken into pieces. Ordered a large purchase. Shipping date vague then said shipped. Never got it. Emailed. Said oh the shipping people lost the order, really? Did say they are crediting my money but in the meantime they had my money for like three weeks. Would never order again no matter how nice they appear to be. Surprising they are in business as it appears I'm not the only one with shipping woes.

Seriously this is 2022 - fire your fraud team for being so incompetent. This was my first and now my last order I will ever place with you. I hope you go out of business. Truly terrible business practices.

Date of experience: May 20, 2022I received 2 Highly damaged mirrored night stands. I was told by customer service that I should go to a store near by and purchase Bubble wrap and packing tape so I can securely pack the damaged pieces before shipping it back. Now I have to wait almost a month for a refund and they were just rude!
Tip for consumers:Order from someone else that has better customer service. Example; I have always had the best customer service with pottery barn and overstock!

Date of experience: July 23, 2022Avoid this company and save your money! When I initially placed an order for a Men's Valet Stand, I received an email stating that my purchase is on back order. A couple of hours later I received another notice stating that my order was being shipped. Right away I suspected that they were sending me an item that was returned by another customer. When I received the package, I could see that it had been opened and resealed.

Date of experience: September 10, 2022Ordered some cabinets 8/31/23. They were supposedly coming in 4 boxes, 3 were delivered by Fedex, 1 was not delivered because it was damaged. After 3 weeks of hearing very excuse known to man from Hayneedle I was told on 9/20/23 the damaged package was not going to be delivered because Hayneedle had been acquired by Walmart and all of their customer service options were "frozen"... $874 worth of cabinets... not going to be delivered. I was told I could rebox the delivered pieces, send them back and be given a refund when they are returned. I have opened a dispute with my credit card company and filed a complaint with the NY Attorney General. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Oh and one more thing... I'm getting daily emails from these morons telling me about their latest deal.

Date of experience: September 20, 2023Horrible experience all around. Purchased a patio dining set. Just getting it delivered to our house was a challenge with the shipping company. They didn't coordinate shipping, just text you and say "we will be there in 15 min". Once we received it, the table was damaged (and cannot be repaired). Requested a new table top. They said no, you need to return the entire thing or take a discount. Trying to return for ONE, WHOLE, MONTH with the same shipping company. It has been a nightmare! They never show for pick up, lie that they are about to show, tell us they will show the next day, hang up on you when you are trying to reschedule a pick up. I have had to result to disputing the charges now. One shining area, customer support via email is friendly, but hasn't helped.

They stopped responding via email, so I had to call to speak with a supervisor, and even after that, I had to stay on them because they wouldn't return calls or emails on their own deadlines. Then they promised me a refund, but turned around a week later and changed their mind. Wouldn't uphold the warranty, and offered me a crappy replacement of an entirely different product! Absolutely ridiculous.
Tip for consumers:Buy directly from the manufacturer of you want to use the warranty

Hayneedle canceled my order because of their antiquated security system that will not allow you to send it to a different address other than your billing address. I placed an order using my American Express and the correct billing address and had the item shipped to my new home. The order was canceled by Hayneedle even though Amex said that the payment was authorized and provided an AUTH #. The explanation I received was that the security system did not match the addresses. Where do you have a company that does not allow you to send it to another address? Bad Business Practices!

Date of experience: December 23, 2022I purchased a 900gsm towel set from them. At 900 grams per square meter you would expect the towels to be the thickest on the market. What arrived was thin like beach towels and certainly not worth the money I paid for them. I asked them for a refund as was told I would have to pay for shipping. They told me I would receive a return address label within 24 hours. It has been a week and I am still fighting to return the cheap towel set.

Date of experience: June 13, 2023I ordered a cabinet from hayneedle that arrived looking like it fell off a truck twice. After you receive product that is completely destroyed, it will be on you to transport this to where they tell you to return it. Which will mostikely be a FedEx warehouse, and if one is not close to you, have fun hauling a 200 lb box to the next town.

Date of experience: April 22, 2022Since Hayneedle wouldn't allow me to leave this review on their site, I wanted to provide my experience here… Table arrived broken beyond repair from 3rd party manufacturer/ shipping company; return process was painful with no option to simply replace the table as opposed to sending back the 9 boxes (1 large box and each chair (8) individually boxed) in total. Was told if I wanted a replacement, I'd have to place the entire order again, even without my refund. When I opted for the full return and refund, again dealing with the 3rd party shipping company, they failed to pick the return during the original pickup window and had reschedule, pushing back the ability to get my refund timely. The full set of boxes was picked up on May 10th and 9 days later, I still have no confirmation on whether my return was received nor have I received my refund. I will not do business with Hayneedle again. Beware.

Numerous emails were unsuccessful, but a 15 minute phone call finally achieved my goal of having them acknowledge that they had received the returned item! Slippery way of doing business. Never will use them again!

Date of experience: March 25, 2020I ordered a 48" bookcase and waited a couple of weeks for it to arrive, the box was nearly destroyed by FedEx and there was extensive damage to several of the components. I called the "customer service" number SEVERAL times and was always sent to voicemail. I left messages asking to be contacted and was NEVER called back.
Do business with a reputable company and steer very clear of Hayneedle, all they want is you money and should you ever need service they are deaf.
I will NEVER purchase another product from this scam company and should you decide to just know that you have been warned.

Tip for consumers:If Overstock.com has your item that might work better. If not do not depend on ontime delivery.
Date of experience: November 4, 2014PlumStruck send me a cheap kids backpack instead of the luggage I ordered from them and insisted that it was what I had ordered even after seeing screenshots from my amazon orders page proving otherwise. When I requested the correct item be sent instead, the customer service representatives absolutely refused to respond back with anything meaningful.
This seller is a scam. Never buy from them.
Date of experience: July 11, 2016I sure wish I would have seen these reviews before ordering. Everything these 1 star reviews say are exactly the issues I had. Jumping through hoops, inordinate amount of onus placed on the customer, so many conflicting emails and way too much time on hold and reaching customer service. The people in customer service who answer the phone are on a whole pretty good, however there are only certain things they have privy to view on their screens which means you will be transferred to the supervisor Cynthia Yates and that's where the nightmare begins. Way too many issues to go into but please take these reviews to heart.

Their inventory comprised of furniture variants including tables, chairs, beds, room dividers and wind spinners to name a few. I urge you to check out this website, for among different brands, you can come across the likes of Red Ember, Boomer and George, Island Bay and Coral Coast. Another characteristic that caught my attention was the sale that enabled shoppers to save up to 65%. Among the collection, you can find indoor furniture as well as outdoor furniture and an assortment of patio items. Log on to the site for details.
Date of experience: June 19, 2013Some of their products are trash but if you stick to the reviews you can usually avoid bad items and actually land some really good deals. One of the bright spots of Hayneedle is their eye-catching website, which begs you to turn the page and keep shopping. Hayneedle is pure fun, good on you!
However, this immersion begins to fade a little when you make the 888 call to their customer support, which feels more like a group of people who can only see what you see. Each interaction yields inconsistent results which begs the question of standardization within the company. Their actual ability to modify orders is surprisingly limited. Level 1 and level 2 representatives are unable to change anything or combine orders placed within minutes of each other. "Made a mistake? Cancel the whole thing and try again" is the approach here.
We have not tried to return an item before, fortunately we haven't needed to.
Tip for consumers:Read the product reviews. For the most part, they are spot on.
