I recommend buying coins as a Value Club member to save 20% off of your initial investment. Then, further purchases over the course of the year are at 10% savings. Date of experience: July 8, 2023The rep I spoke to was very helpful and understanding. I didn't understand what the overweight shipping charge was all about. I had purchased the ELITE member and I thought I would be getting free shipping on everything and I found out that was not the case. The sign up for the ELITE member wasn't very specific about what it actually covered. The excellent rep that didn't have any foreign accent that I couldn't understand was a BIG plus! Hire more people like her!
Date of experience: May 3, 2024I bought a space heater and paid for a 2-year warranty but when it failed after only 4 months they said they didn't have any more and that I'd have to return it, at my own expanse, and only recieve an in-store credit. This is not waht I was told when I purchased the item and paid for an extended warranty. I will never do busines with them again, and recommend you don't either.

Date of experience: October 25, 2021Heartland America advertises products they know they cannot ship and then cancels the order without notifying the consumer. Although they have never charged me for an item not sent, it is frustrating to be waiting for something that will never arrive. I have tried to get the U.S. Postal Service involved stating this is false advertising but as long as this company pays taxes the federal government does not care. Additionally, there is no way of contacting this company. Yes, they have a contact number and email address but I have never received a response.

Date of experience: September 22, 2021I found an item at www.heartlandamerica.com that I had been looking for a while, the price was awesome and I pulled the trigger. Within 15 minutes of submitting my order, a real person (Brian) emailed me to follow-up and make sure everything was correct, educate me on the membership plans they offer, and to see if I needed anything else - what! Real customer service from an online retailer... AMAZING! Thank you Brian and thank you Heartland America for a wonderful online shopping experience. I will be back:-)

One thing I especially love is you will find items there that you sometimes cannot find from other companies. I get compliments on the boots and shoes I have purchased there. I look forward to the catalog to see what is in there each month. I always get my packages on a timely basis. I definitely recommend them and will continue to enjoy their products!

Date of experience: February 23, 2022I ordered a jacket on a Friday, then Saturday(next day) they refunded 75% of the money. No cancel notice or any other communication. I escalated a case to my payment company. I got no response from Heartland so I called them directly. My complaint was escalated to a customer service manager from the front line worker. The manager stated that the reason it wasnt all refunded is the minute the order was placed, the services were rendered and that was the service portion of the invoice. I pointed out my receipt shows an added tax and an added shipping fee that total that portion, no services. She tried to say these items were services that were "used" but agreed to a refund. I would beware that this site is a scam and they have policies to try and keep your money even when never delivering you any item.
Tip for consumers:I would call to place any order and make sure the item is in stock and then pay only with a paypal or credit card so you can open a complaint to get a full refund when its warranted

Date of experience: September 10, 2021You stay on hold for forever every time you call. Everybody i have talked to are helpful but they sound like they are not happy to be there. They lose your orders. I have been waiting for 3 weeks for a trace to be completed. Sometimes when you call the number it says you have reached them outside business hours and hangs up. Really disappointed. This was my first time ordering from them. I will not be ordering from them again.

Date of experience: October 4, 2021My grandpa is a 93 year old veteran who has Dementia. Someone with a thick accent who my grandpa described as sounding Indian called his landline number and solicited his business. My grandpa told the woman on the line that he can't understand what she's saying or what she's referring to. The woman told him she needed his credit card number, which he gave to her. Thank goodness my dad caught the two $50 charges ($100 total) on his bank statement, otherwise there is no telling how much they would have taken from his account. My dad demanded the money back and it was refunded. He's keeping a close eye on the account to make sure there is no further activity. Someone needs to hold dishonest people accountable. People who victimize vulnerable seniors through scams are the scum of the Earth.
Date of experience: April 28, 2020My brother purchased the RCA Bluetooth streaming sound bar for my birthday gift, after receiving this old piece of crap. Made in 2012. I connected to my TV as instructed. First I tried to connect to Netflix and was told this app no longer compatible with RCA products. No available updates. I then tried every app listed and was given the same response. Next I check the about page in settings. The license is owned by Netflix... it is not updatable.

Date of experience: May 11, 2021First off, their prices aren't that good. They will gladly take your money but they never confirm order or send tracking info. When you try to access the website to check order status, the website won't let you in and request for lost password assistance results in no emails being sent. And I did check my SPAM folder.
Calling customer service took forever to get through and the bored customer service rep simply said item is in transit. I asked them to email me a tracking number, giving them my email again but no email ever arrived. When I complained about all the SPAM they were sending even though I already unsubscribed — he transferred me to another department — and after 2 seconds of silence, I was disconnected. Dang!
Still getting SPAM from them and still no package after I spent $50 on an item for my 83 year old mother-in-law. This company is beyond awful.
Tip for consumers:Avoid Heartland America compnay.

I made my order and received fast shipping and the products are fabulous,
There is also a way to track your shipment.

Date of experience: February 23, 2022I ordered house shoes for my husband. They were sized on the small side, so I reordered in a larger size. When I read that if I didn't request an exchange when I mailed them back they would charge me a restocking fee. I call to cancel my new online order so I could request an exchange on the slip that I would send back. They told me that I didn't need to cancel, that I would get my entire refund. Well, of course I didn't and it took 5 weeks to get back my reduced refund. Beware!

For a company to reach out to make sure I saw the offer when they will net less $$$ if I take the offer tells me they value the customer. Highly recommend

Date of experience: February 23, 2022About 7-8 months ago I realize they've charged me for a membership that I never signed up for so I cancelled it and then change my credit card number but apparently they found a new credit card number typed it in manually and charge me again about $45 for nothing some kind of renewal which I never signed up for so beware watch out check your credit card statements once you deal with this company
Date of experience: March 19, 2020I had previously had a dispute with this company over a product we purchased back in July 2021. I wrote letters, nothing. Feeling pretty irked about the whole situation I started to research them online and learned that in august 2021 they got a new CEO. I was reading an article where she(Kendra Reichenau) had just taken over the reins of Heartland and talked about a "love for the customer". I'm thinking ok let's put your money where your mouth is here, not that my purchase was big money cause it was all of $218, I decided to write her an email, not even sure if the email I found was legit I sent her a request and just asked her to review the transaction and the correspondence I had sent. Within 2 hours this lady calls me back and leaves her personal cell phone on my recording. I literally stood there with my mouth dropped to the floor. So I call her back and she immediately tells me there is no excuse for Heartland's behavior period, then she offered me a resolution that far exceeded anything I ever expected. She did everything she said she was gonna so when she said she'd do it. That goes a long way in my book. Kendra and her staff are working hard to make this company reputable again one customer at a time. I will shop there again and I will refer people I know there. She took responsibility and fixed a problem that was created when she didn't even work there. I am pretty impressed with her, her staff and the company.

Date of experience: February 16, 2022I initially made a purchase of merchandise on July 2nd. I returned that same merchandice on July 18th because it it arrived damaged. I was recently told that Heartland America received that damaged merchandise on August 24th and that it would take another 2 weeks to process my refund. This is going on 2 months and I still have not received my refund. The customer service is horrible, this company's handling of refunds and exchanges are horrible and I suggest if anyone reads this to run away!

THE REPRESENTITIVE WAS SO NICE AND HELPFUL. SHE MENTIONED THAT IF I JOIN THE VALUE CLUB I CAN SAVE EVEN MORE. I DID JOIN THE CLUB AND HAVE ALREADY PLACED 3 ORDERS AND SAVE MORE THEN THE CLUB COST. THE MEMBERSHIP IS GOOD FOR A YEAR AND I HAVE MANY MORE ORDERS TO PLACE AND I LOVE THE SAVINGS.
