One of their so called techs messed up our phone system so bad trying to make one change and it has now been weeks and its still not fixed. Can never get the same person, always somebody new who does not have the previous information about what was don to undo something, always full of excuses. I am looking to leave them because I cannot risk our office not getting calls and messages correctly and in a timely manner. Just a god awful company to work with. STAY AWAY! Tip for consumers:AVOID THEM at all costs! Products used:phone system, fax service, texting Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
Signed up with one of their agents who said it was a year contract and then month to month. Ringcentral added auto renewal to contract, and would not allow changes to contract. After second year they again added auto-renewal to the contract, and when we called, they said they would turn it off, but we still needed to pay for the upcoming year (3rd Year), or $500 early termination fee would be charged. These guys are shifty, and I would definitely not recommend them to anyone! No way to operate a business. Products used:VOIP Service Service Value Quality
Dear RingCentral perspectives, Ring Central is constantly updating and adding to their services constantly changing the way they do things. Then they lock you into a contract so if you are completely dissatisfied with the service, they charge you the full fwees without any cancelation regardless as to how many years you have been suffering with them. I strongly urge you to consider other companies for your phone service. Respectfully, John Johannessen Johannessen Construction Co. Tip for consumers:They caharge you anyway untill contract expires, even though I have been with them for 6 years. Products used:Contract that was canceled
Setup is easy, the system is not hard to learn but if you have issue with quality or on the backend of the system forcing you to contact support. Forget it... You are dealing with agents overseas that are entry level at best. The purpose of becoming a partner with a company would be to have some dedicated agents or a team to help with new accounts or service issues. I can handle basic things but contacting support and getting someone who really understands their system is a stretch. They really need to look into their internal structure and cater to their partners who are actually out selling the product. Tip for consumers:i am new to the site.. not sure what to recommend at this time... Products used:VOIP phones Service Value Quality
Signed up for service 11/22 to integrate it with Ad Sales Genius. Was assigned phone number I soon found out was formerly belonging to a psychiatric center serving school systems, and the public. Contacted RC rep multiple times via email to complain and tell him we cannot use this number, and we have never made a single call outbound or advertised a RC number, and finally in March of this year they gave me two whole months credit, refused to cancel account because of contract, gave me a new number which I really didn't want and no longer can use, the ship for onboarding into ASG and training my team sailed last year. Answered recent survey, told it what happened, they call me, swear they are gonna sort this for me, so I get a voice mail from somebody there, call back, same old song and dance, I can't cancel there are two more months to go. So Ring Central took $2400 from my small business for a service I could not use, would not help when I needed it, changed number when I did not want service any longer, and forced me to pay or they would sue me. Stay far away from them. We were inundated with desperate calls from spouses, parents, mentally ill people needing help, school counselors needing services for children, it was traumatic and Ring Central could not possibly have cared less. Hope they enjoyed our $2400. Tip for consumers:Stay away Products used:None Service Value
Recently had an unfortunate experience with Ring Central that compelled me to share my honest feedback and recount the challenges I faced with their services. As a business owner, I relied on Ring Central to meet my communication needs, but unfortunately, their downgraded service, unauthorized charges, and poor messaging system caused significant setbacks, ultimately resulting in the loss of valuable customers. One of the primary issues I encountered was the gradual decline in the quality and reliability of Ring Central's services. From dropped calls and frequent disruptions in call quality to intermittent issues with the system's overall functionality, my business suffered due to these service shortcomings. Despite reaching out to their customer support team on multiple occasions, the problems persisted, leaving me with a diminished level of trust and confidence in Ring Central's ability to provide a dependable communication solution. To add insult to injury, I discovered unauthorized charges on my account, which was truly disheartening. As a vigilant customer who diligently reviewed my invoices, I was shocked to find charges that were neither authorized nor communicated to me beforehand. This breach of trust not only affected my financial well-being but also highlighted a significant flaw in Ring Central's billing practices. The lack of transparency regarding these charges further exacerbated my frustration and led me to question their commitment to ethical business practices. Furthermore, the messaging system offered by Ring Central proved to be highly inadequate and inefficient. In today's fast-paced business environment, effective and timely communication with customers is paramount. Regrettably, Ring Central's messaging system fell short, causing missed or delayed messages that ultimately resulted in misunderstandings and, more importantly, the loss of valuable customers. This detrimental impact on my revenue and customer satisfaction was a direct result of the poor performance of Ring Central's messaging system. Given the significant concerns mentioned above, I made the difficult decision to terminate my services with Ring Central. I firmly believe that as a customer, it is essential to hold service providers accountable for their shortcomings, as it not only affects individual businesses but also helps others make informed decisions. In conclusion, my experience with Ring Central has been disappointing, characterized by a downgraded service, unauthorized charges, and a poor messaging system. I would caution other businesses to carefully consider these factors before choosing Ring Central as their communication solution. Transparency, reliability, and efficient customer service are crucial aspects that every service provider should prioritize, and unfortunately, Ring Central failed to deliver on these fronts. It is my hope that Ring Central takes these issues seriously, addresses them promptly, and implements necessary improvements to ensure a better experience for future customers. We recently left office at hand moving to Ring Central as our demands for a more involved soft phone system was needed for my inbound call center for sales. My partner and I have 35+ years experience at AT&T from installing phone systems to marketing and sales for entire product lines. We have multiple business that are all reliant on inbound calls. We reached out to Ring Central to move away from our current company for simplicity and costs of the product. Porting day came... and went... and we are still without a working phone system. The run around between departments inside Ring Central is most exhausting. No one wanted to take any level of responsibility, asking ignorant questions time and time again, about "are we sure we are logged into the software, and is the phone on do not disturb" etc. when the phones wont even ring, all inbound calls fail at the dialing source. Every department claimed it wasn't their issue. Back and forth. For 2 days now. We finally got a tier 2 support person who stated it could be Monday before its resolved, possibly later. "That's great" I'm only going to miss 5 days of heavy sales at the begging of the month if its resolved by Monday, more if it takes longer. I have never been so frustrated with the lack of concern from a company as I am with this one. I would advise any small business to have a back up plan for you phone system. Service Value
Do not sign up for them. I entered into a contract for 4 licenses several years ago. I have been charged for 6 licenses and I have also been attempting to lower my costs however Ring Central unilaterally "renewed my contract" for an additional 3 years without any notification despite the fact that it violates California law and I am in California and their office is in California. I have wasted countless hours and sent emails and messages and there is NO way to resolve this issue with them as they simply will not work to resolve it. I will never use them again after this fiasco. Worst customer service EVER! I should have stuck with my old VOIP provider. At least they had decent customer service and didn't try to rip me off. STAY AWAY FROM RING CENTRAL! They are a scam and no matter how much you spend on their services, they will always overcharge you. Now that I am trying to resolve this I see that this is their way of doing business. Their practice violates Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § ******* Tip for consumers:There are many Voip providers. After my experience I have learned that the overcharging is just a way of doing business. Look into other businesses and do not use Ring Central. Ring Central is a very robust system and I like how they can easily get you an auto attendant which other companies cannot do this as easily. I also liked their integration with smart phones, internet faxing, and the fact you can get toll free phone numbers. The system the developed is pretty good. The only downside I think is the way they price it per user. The only plan that often makes sense for a business is one that has unlimited minutes and that comes at $49/month which is extremely expensive, especially when you consider the alternative options like google voice. Anyone interested in this service should also check out google voice and see if that almost free option fits their needs. I still like ring central but we cannot begin to afford their service.
This is a complaint against Ring Central, a phone company, for its failure to honor my request of October 20,2022 to cancel service and to release my phone number for transfer and portability to Verizon. Verizon already has my account for mobile service. Multiple phone calls and email efforts have been met with delays and run-around. Agents asked that I agree to pay funds to Ring Central before action would be taken, even though there is a dispute over charges and even though I am willing to have the dispute resolved, but without Ring Central holding my phone number hostage. My disputes include Ring Central last week assessing an extra charge to my account without notice to me or my consent.
I wouldn't even give them 1 star if I wasn't forced to. Ring Central has been stealing money from our Non Profit Organization for months. We have called to cancel several times and they have still charged us without permission every single month. We switched to another service because they were price gouging. What used to cost us $89/month started climbing into the thousands during Covid - as a Non-profit! We swiftly decided to switch providers and have been trying to cancel with RingCentral ever since. You cannot cancel online. You cannot take out your billing information. When you call, you get transferred a thousand times and someone then finally tells you that it is canceled, only to be charged again the next month. This is essentially stealing money - after they already stole thousands from price gouging! This is illegal and unethical and legal action will be taken. BBB has also been contacted. Stay away from this company, stay very far away.
We signed up for a trial of their fax services after reading all the great reviews on multiple tech review sites. We now question the integrity of those reviews because our 10% success rate with 7 failed attempts out of 8 over 11+ consecutive hours. Tech support was of no help whatsoever with scripted responses that didn't answer any of our questions or concerns. We wasted $14.99 for a month of service that we never used since the trial wasn't cancelled in time. Thankfully, the actual cancellation wasn't as bad as those experienced by some of the other online reviewers (so far) though it was a slight inconvenience to have to do it by phone despite a cancellation option on their website. According to their support documentation last updated March 5,2019, Cancellations can only be done by phone. Products used:nothing else Service Value Quality
Ring Central is a scam. They lure you in with a slightly lower price then the competitor, but they knowingly will get you on the "auto renewal" contract, so you will be stuck with them forever and if you want to leave you'll have to pay early termination fees. And the worst part is their Customer Service, Tech Support, Account Executive and Management - they pretends to care and speak to you nicely, but none can make a decision, they'll pass you around and make you wait for days without any resolutions. I am a reseller/partner for Ring Central and have referred many clients to them. They have put my clients through hell, including myself when I called them. The $5 lower a month is not worth the headache for my clients. Not only I stopped referring businesses to Ring Central I made it a mission for all my contacts not to go with Ring Central! I hope Ring Central Executives team are smart enough and make changes to their business practice and culture ASAP - their stock prices will reflect their decision. Tip for consumers:If you do decide to go with Ring Central to save $5/mo make sure to ask them not to Auto Renew your contract after the contract expired. Also, if you need to call them for support - Good Luck! Products used:Essentials package $19.99/mo
This company is not up front with their pricing. I was paying around $65 per month for services and after porting my number and being with them for 3 months my bill came to around $123. When I called to see why the rate has increased they stated that there were limitations on my minutes and amount of phone calls I could receive for the 2 extensions that were included in my package. So I decided to upgrade and get a lower monthly rate by doing a yearly subscription, after getting the quote and accepting their proposal for about $790, they hit me with an additional $79 for additional taxes and fees, which I advise everyone to read their taxes and fees section because most of that money is not taxes, but just additional fees the company charges and is not required by any level of government according to their own website. I requested for a refund on April 12th 2019 and it is now April 24th 2019 and after 8 hours of hold time on the phone I still have no idea if I'm even getting my money back. This is by far the worst experience I've had with a company. Not to mention the phone quality is not that good, I still get dropped calls and I live in Dallas Texas.
We signed up for this service four months ago and have had nothing but a nightmare experience. The call quality is terrible, their customer service reps while polite waste your time running through the same "trouble shooting steps" but can never figure out how to fix a problem.
I have a number of small business where the teams are separated across the country. The RC system is great with dealing with that scenario. It's easy to manage calls, voicemails, etc. Can transfer calls between mobiles for the team members. You can also tag different email addresses for different voicemails so that they go to the right person. Very efficient and comprehensive divert service as well. Has worked faultlessly to date.
I have installed last week ago and our phone system went down and in a week they couldn't fix it. The tech team kept pushing me onto one another back and forth it was awful. They'll be constantly lying to you, making excuses to you. PATHETIC service!
I found the software bulky and inconvenient. From the desktop application to lead management and reports it was simply more complex than it had to be. Customer service was helpful enough, but at times it took too long to speak to someone. More critical issues always seemed to need escalation and resolution came slowly if at all and as soon as they determined the issue wasn't something on their end they were done helping. Overall for the size of call center we have (15 stations) and the type of dialing we do (predictive cold call) it just wasn't the solution for us.
Hi - I tried almost all systems out there. Finally, I settled with PBX Plus. It works with my Skype, offers free speech recognition, voicemail and voicemail transcription, unlimited extensions and sub-extensions etc. For a limited time, they are also offering a free PBX in US and UK. First let me state that the only reason I'm still with Ring Central is because I need the call logs for some legal issues I'm currently involved in. If not for that I'd be gone. So much wrong with this company such as not receiving 90% of my emails for years and never knowing about it. When I discovered it by accident it took them months to resolve. Who knows how much business I lost. For that time they should have refunded me what I paid for the fax service but they only gave me a few months of free service. Even then, they still took the money from my account and each month I had to contact them to get the money back. Each time took about an hour. If I hadn't been watching my account I still would have been paying for the service and never known it. This is illegal. They also tried to cheat me out of a month of that free service. This company is full of scammers. Recently its been every few weeks I have a problem. Tech support is a major problem, particularly if you're a single line user. Then you only get support Mon-Fri 8a to 9p EST. Small businesses today with the internet may work in all US time zones and need later hours and may work weekends. I work both. I cannot be without my phone. There are plenty of other VoIP providers that do provide 24/7/365 support. When you get the full business package it also becomes over priced. There are other VoIP providers that provide more reliable service at better prices. These guys keep ignoring the basics. It seems lately every few weeks I'm having problems, further back every few months. This is way to often. Most recently on my soft phone I lost date information on my calls. It just no longer shows. This is important for me to track recent calls that come in so I can respond to them. I called tech support to get help and they requested I allow them to share my screen. I agreed on the condition that I be informed of anything they do before they do it. They lied, literally. I specifically said I did not want to update my soft phone because incompetently they had not done anything about migrating messages on the current soft phone to updates. If we don't delete those messages there's a reason for it. That reason is we need those messages. Twice he went ahead and tried to update without my permission. He lied about having a way to migrate messages. I'd had this discussion on 3 prior tech support calls. I had to catch him at it and stop him. He lied saying he brought me to one of the download screens saying he just wanted to check to see if it was there. Come on, they know whats there. Finally he admitted trying to do it. So he was going to update me and throw away important information I needed without my permission. He finally admitted he was trying to force his fix on me without my permission. If you go online and search for Ring Central's financials you'll find they've lost money every quarter for the last 3 years. They waste money on useless/minor/unwanted things in development. The do not do many of the basics right and don't properly maintain them. It's next to impossible to find anything in their online help it's so poorly organized. I've gone to the online support for other VoIP providers and found my answers in moments. Tech support is not 24/7/365. If they had decent online support they wouldn't have so many people calling for live support, they'd save money and be able to afford to provide 24/7/365 support for all their users for when it's really needed. Tech support has lied to me on a number of occasions. This last time was most blatant when they told me they had a fix they didn't and tried to update me against my wishes and I had to take back control of the mouse to stop them. These guys are liars and thieves. Do not use them, particularly if you are a small business with only one line. They don't really care about you and will try to get over on you. I wish I could post better companies to use than Ring Central. As soon as my legal issue is sufficiently resolved, hopefully in the next couple of months, I'm gone.
I chose Ring Central because it was slightly cheaper, but, as always, you get what you pay for. I gave up after a few failed attempts at faxing. When I called to cancel, I felt like the village harlot, being passed around from person to person, and it took speaking to three customer reps and countless minutes on hold to finally close my account. As an alternative, i've also used eFax, which seems to be pretty decent.
You can send faxes from your email address and adding rcfax.com to your email address, and it is paperless. You can also receive faxes to your email address and it serves two purposes, the fax is scanned in and you can make a folder for it, and two you can access it from anywhere that you can connect your computer rather than having to be in the office to get the fax.
I've heard rumors that their VoIP service has lots of problems, but I can't speak to those because all I use is their "mobile office" call forwarding features. In my experience, those features have worked very well for me. It's a good fit for any home-based business that needs a call-in number without any special equipment.
This is a great e-fax system and is reasonable. There have been a few times when faxes have not come through due to size or just because. This is why I did not rate it 4 stars.
