I purchased a dress for a wedding with free shipping. The dress wasn't true to size and hung terribly on the right side. I started the return process and couldn't understand the woman on the other end of the phone. Every other word was cut off so I just hung up and called back. I decided to reorder in a larger size. When I tried it on it still hung terribly on the right side, the sleeves were cut wrong and hung down from my armpits a good 4 inches! I don't know what standards they are using for sizing but they aren't correct for petite women! I'd have to have either very fat arms or very big muscles for those sleeves to fit!

Incredible sales if you catch it right since they allow mailing list coupons to be used on top of their sales prices. Items quickly shipped and usually have arrived about 10 days later, although sometimes in separate packages.
I am shocked at the poor reviews and question if they are real. Never had an issue with Soft Surroundings. If I had to say something critical it would be their size runs large.

Finally got information after sending an email.
They have lost this customer.

Date of experience: May 10, 2023I wanted to order an item online and it was stated that it was non-returnable and therefore non-refundable! There is no excuse for this especially for clothing where sizes can vary so quickly according to style…you can't always go by the sizing chart! This outdated policy should be changed!
Date of experience: October 9, 2023Although over priced, I really do like soft surroundings clothing. It fits well and fits true to size and is very flattering. However, they are very slow to get things to you, and even slower- if that's possible- to refund you when you return something. I returned two items two weeks ago, and I am still waiting for my credit card to be credited. I called them, and they said it could be another few weeks before they get my account credited. That is just unacceptable. As far as I'm concerned, and I will not order from them again.

Date of experience: October 18, 2023I purchased two dresses online from Soft Surroundings. Unfortunately, neither of them fit. I returned them and they received them on September 11,2023. I am still waiting for my refund. I have made several calls and there have been many apologies but no refund. Each time, I'm told to wait 3 to 5 days more. The cost of their clothes is high and waiting a month for a refund is unacceptable. I will not be ordering from them again. No other company that I order from that have similar prices and clothing styles have this problem. I will be leaning heavily on Loft, and JJill in the future.

Date of experience: October 9, 2023Was hired by the their display group a few years ago - back when they were a strong business. Danny B and specially Mindy G who ran the display group were both unprofessional and basically full of themselves. Store associates were frightened of these two, specially Mindy G - with her evil eye stares. They stole ideas and yelled at me in a conference room when confronted - stated that if I didn't like it, there would be many who would be glad to take my place. Not surprised that both lost their jobs and now the store is out of business and I'm still running mine.

I will not be shopping there in the future as they go entirely to mail order - the absolute weakest part of their business. I have tried to order items on line to be mailed to me. That is not working and they do not care - if their customer service is an example of their future service. Can no longer trust them.

I have written, emailed, called numerous times, to no avail. They have promised many times that I won't get another catalogue, but sure enough, they keep on coming. Had I know this I would never have ordered from this dinasour company. I really hope I like the item because I can't imagine the nightmare of a return. My 1st and last time shopping this company. Too many great places to shop! And on top of that they charge for this rediculous slow shipping. Most companies offer free shipping. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.

Date of experience: October 28, 2023So, I ordered a top at a wonderful sale price however I never received it at SS claimed there was a stock issue so cancelled my order. I went on the website and sure enough the item was available. I then called and asked if they would reinstate my order. They said no. I asked if size were the issue I would accept a smaller size. Again no! I was hung up on. I called again and spoke with a gentleman who worked with me and said he would change the size and I would receive a confirmation email. That never happened either. I sent another email last night and again today, I am told to place a new order. Shame on Soft Surroundings. Do they not realize that they are not the only manufacturers of like product!
Tip for consumers:Extremely poor customer service. I have never been so disappointed. All check out Poshmark and Ebay for similar if not the same or better quality for a lower price.

I'm getting shorted hundreds of dollars and have one item I haven't received as an exchange. Will never ever buy from this company again. Don't buy from this business. They will just take your money. No wonder they're going out of business.
Date of experience: January 3, 2024I have bought several blouses on clearance at a Soft Surroundings store. They were $100 on sale for $50. They were beautiful they washed up with no wrinkles and clearly well-made blouses. I recently bought two blouses at softsurroundings.com. I assumed they were the same company, but given what I received I'm not so sure. These blouses were also $100 before markdown. So I expected quality. As soon as I got them. I washed them in cold water and hung them to dry. What I got was a mass of wrinkles. So I just spent a half an hour, ironing, blouses which for that quality I should not be doing. So now I am disappointed, they are very pretty blouses but due to the wrinkly factor I don't think they deserved $100 price tag

Date of experience: February 8, 2023Two weeks ago I ordered a bamboo quilt and matching pillow cases. Over $400. Still don't have it. It seems to be flying all over the midwest via FedEx. Stuck (more likely lost) in West Virginia at the FedEx hub. Customer service was zero help. In fact she just said have a nice day and hung up. They must get a lot of complaints.

Date of experience: June 21, 2021I took advantage of their end of year sale and ordered some beauty products. Two of the items I received were used. Eye cream is more than half empty ( picture attached) the face oil was used as well but the package is black so you can't see. Very poor customer service when I called in. I will not shop again at soft surroundings again. If I ant used product I can buy it off eBay or fb market for peanuts, besides it's very unsanitary. Will definitely not shop there again. Because of very poor customer service they might not stay in business for too long. I worked retail for almost 30 years and this is unacceptable.

Saw beautiful clothing come across my Insta-feed - foolishly clicked through to the website and DIDN'T do my research on this company before ordering. The clothing eventually arrived not as described or shown in photos - overpriced shipping (who even charges shipping anymore?) AND I needed to pay for my return. Stay away!

I'm not sure if it was the wrong item or not, but it didn't work for me and I sent it back, requesting a refund. It took them over a month to acknowledge my return and send me an email that they would start the credit process. They then deducted $14 from the refund for return shipping costs. Astonishing. Nothing about this experience was remotely positive and I won't order from them again.

Sizing was fine and the jeans are stretchy and very soft! I'm very happy with every aspect of my shopping experience, which was through the outlet website. In fact, one item was out of stock- they notified me immediately, corrected my bill and gave me a 10 dollar credit! I should also mention that the clothing is BEAUTIFUL,

The prices are too high on most items and the quality does not match asking price. Plus there are no free shipping bonuses no matter how much money is spent.

Very happy with every single item from novelty sweatshirt to dressy top w/flounce to simple ribbed summer top and leggings. Love that XL items are fully cut to avoid 1X and that most tops are 27-28" to cover bottom. Have received compliments when wearing. No need for returns so cannot comment. Now
My friends plan to start purchasing from Soft Surroundings, especially when $79-89 tops are on sale for $39-49! Just retired so now can buy the fun casual items that don't need to be suitable for office. Especially loved the tiered bottom straight leg pants & the lavender sweatshirt w/lace trim for less than $30.
Tip for consumers:Agree regular prices a bit high.. but once you are on emailing list - you receive frequent discount offers.

I had paid extra fees for fastest delivery, still it takes a long time to get it. They should do a better job with faster processing and faster delivery.
