I ordered a movie off their website and it ambiguously says in the listing "Ships in 1-2 Weeks." 2 Weeks later it hasn't shipped. I email them and they said they do not know when it will ship.
Date of experience: August 21, 2024I don't even want to give it one star, a bunch of scammers, I'm 53 years old and my son collect pop dolls and I went in around Christmas time to get some and they said do you wanna sign up for the card "it's free" and I'm like sure, not knowing that they were gonna start charging my card $11.99 a month. I just called to cancel because I didn't even know that were charging my card. It's sure unlawful that they were using my debit card every month for my purchase that day. I told customer service that I would write a bad review on a daily basis. I never even activated the membership. SCAMMERS

Date of experience: June 1, 2022They listed an item as the rather valuable deluxe box set with LP, "12 bonus discs, multiple CDs and 5.1 Blu-ray. The picture they showed and the description clearly stated that this was the item they were selling. I even reached out to confirm it. They advised that it was correct. Then they sent me the single LP (after charging the full amount) and said they guess their inventory team got the listing wrong. Now we're dealing with the hassle of an unnecessary return. I just don't think they have their act together. If you want a trouble free experience I'd look elsewhere.

Date of experience: March 29, 2022I literally just spent 30 minutes in the phone being explained the benefits of a backstage pass whilst trying to cancel it and was told TWICE "I'll just go ahead and keep your membership active." It took me cussing out the guy and having to explain that I am a college student who just wanted 10% off a product for him to cancel. I only called because the online way to cancel gave me a "404 Fail" every. Single. Time. Hate this place

Date of experience: January 7, 2023My daughter is a regular at FYE at the Jefferson Mall in Louisville, Ky. We made a purchase of more than $70 on Sunday, November 19,2023 at 2:32 in the afternoon. We try to make payment with a gift card and complete with cash. We had difficulty with the gift card balance, which upset the employee and she made unpleasant gestures towards me. I asked her for patience and reminded her that I was a customer, and she reacted by talking loudly to me and calling security to intimidate me. I am Hispanic, I felt discriminated against.

Who needs that bruh, lame. So now i call customer service and i can't even get a refund, for what reason? I dont know. I had to cancel it on phone months later after i "canceled" it online. Stupid.

I got a message on my phone for fraud alert from them trying to charge my credit card. I called the company and asked what this was and why I was being charged and the dude I talked to was extremely rude and did not help me. He asked for the card number from the card they gave me when they did not give me anything. He kept going back to that card that I kept telling him I never received. He would not cancel the membership because he stated I didn't have one. I had to go to the bank to get my card canceled and get a new one because of this. I hope this company gets shut down I see all over here now that it keeps happening. What a joke!
Date of experience: July 14, 2023Sadly, it seems that underhanded practices are being normalized and spread throughout our communities. The company exploits ignorant customers, by signing them up for an automatic subscriptions being marketed as "free magazines", or "10% discounts", all while not showing the customer the fine print. I am boycotting FYE, and all of its subsidiaries for the VERY underhanded practices that have been going on since 2018. My forced subscription started after my purchase in September, when I stated "no thank you. Maybe some other time" to the offer of "free" magazines and sub par discounts. I spent a total of 43 hours trying to open an account I did not make, just to cancel a subscription I did not want, or sign up for. Originally, the subscription was never advertised as such. The cashier mentioned the VIP programs discounts and pamphlets, but those things didn't seem enticing for me. Still, I was given a pamphlet, and a small booklet detailing the program. Funny enough, I don't even live near any FYE store fronts.
My point is that, I don't want to go for a lawsuit, but if I see another charge on my account, I might have to.

Because he didn't understand that he couldn't trade funko pops and he asked. Then the worker screamed," No you cannot." In a really bad attitude. I don't recommend. Then we left.

They don't care about your purchase as long as they got your money. They keep giving me the run around and will refuse to help. Avoid any purchase from them if you can. I am still waiting for help to get my product delivered to me. What was supposed to be a birthday gift, might end up being a Christmas gift by the time they sort this out. That's if they care to get around to it.

Date of experience: September 8, 2020We are so spoiled by Amazon that when you buy things from other online stores, you expect the details to be honest, then you learn that stores like this have very little consideration for their customers and are not honest about the detail of your order or how long you will have to wait for it to arrive.
I ordered a really awesome Christmas present for somebody. The site said 2-3 days, but now it is Christmas eve, over a week later and they have not even started shipping it. So many online stores are scammers and I wish I looked at the reviews before shopping here. Oh well, too late now.
Date of experience: December 24, 2020They used to be a great place to buy video and music. Their stores have been transformed into a place for selling nerd junk rather than a real video store. Video selection is now small and disappointing. Read my review on Google about their return policy problems. Stay away from buying the Backstage Pass. It is no longer worth the price with their minimal selection of titles. If you must get it, cancel it after the trial period.
Tip for consumers:Check their return policy before you plan to buy and return something. What they advertise on their site is not always how they respond in person.

Although when I was buying it it said 50% off and they made me pay full price, no biggie I guess I still wanted the product. The hoodie is automatically falling apart though! The embroidery on the side immediately came apart on the first wear, without washing or anything! Not only that but it has a hole already.

Date of experience: April 11, 2016Honestly I don't get the customer service complaints. I was able to cancel my backstage pass with someone whom shared the same language as me at 11 at night! They offered a discount and though I didn't have the funds at the time, it makes me want to come back to them when I do.
I've been to a multiple of there stores and though they are pricier the employees who work their genuinely work there because there passionate about the company. It really makes me want to pay the premium to support their business.

Shipping time is fantastic. I have always gotten my orders ahead of the estimated ship time. Its highly recommended for all your movie and music needs.

They usually have what I am looking for, and I often find other stuff that I forgot I wanted. The only issue I have is that they are a bit overpriced.

Wrote FYE and response was the item wasn't in stocks anymore and I would be credited. No sorry, no explanation. If my order was canceled automatically why wasn't I at least refunded automatically.

They're just standing around the registers and acting like it's such a bother to rind a customer up. And. 05 a bag? I get it, the environment, but I bet those bags don't cost them a nickel. That's not even my complaint though. I don't expect my butte kissed for buying some graphic tees, but say hello and thank you. I get it, working retail sucks around the holidays…(try being a nurse during Covid, seriously, I'm not feeling your pain). The store was empty anyways. The thing is, I can get all that stuff on Amazon, minus the rudeness. You're not cool just because you've read more comics than me, and clerks was a movie from 25 years ago. Probably won't shop there again.
