They must not need money or care about having a job because the incompetence is overwhelming. Who needs 9 business days to process a marker for shipment? They must be like a drop shipper. They don't actually have anything in stock. When you place an order, then they order it for you. So just skip the middle man and find what you're looking for online, and I'm sur it will be be a better price.
Tip for consumers:Run, don't walk away from this company and save yourself from the aggravation that will last months.
Products used:Their custom frames can be found anywhere else, cheaper. It takes them a month to even look at your order, only to find out it's not available. Meanwhile, your funds of hundreds of dollars are on hold. The employees are incompetent. This is not a business, it's a charity.

Date of experience: January 13, 2023After shipping me an empty box that UPS discarded I received multiple vague responses on when my replacement would ship, and told me it was the fault of UPS. I waited until Monday to call back only to find out my money was refunded and a replacement not sent. Again the girl on the phone offered no explanation and simply abruptly ended the call. This was an expensive order…. I don't think I will ever order from them again.
Tip for consumers:Don’t shop here. It’s great until there’s a problem and then a nightmare to resolve

Date of experience: March 22, 2022The pictures of the product online were extremely different then what showed up and when I e-mailed pictures they claimed it was my computer monitor... they were screen shots from my iPhone. The return shipping was $112 dollars for the 4 frames I ordered. Wish I had looked into the company more before purchasing.

Date of experience: August 5, 2022This has happened more than one time. 2 days ago I ordered 85 items for $200. When I went to check out, they added one item for everything I ordered, which made my $200 order $300. Don't buy from them. They are a bunch of thieves. I gave them a chance to answer or solve this problem and I got no answer and now they are blocking my emails. Jerry prices are good but they make it up by stealing from you at checkout. They never did this before so the only thing I can think of is that they need money or go out of business. So, someone in the company decided to steal from you is the answer. Don't buy from them!
Date of experience: December 19, 2023When returning a defective item, they expect you to jump through hoops. After purchasing an item that sporadically turned off, I was expected to sit and wait while recording the item to prove the item was defective. So, sit for potentially hours for nothing to happen, or for something to happen? Your business isn't appreciated here. Thankfully banks offer chargebacks. Good riddance to this scam of a store.

Date of experience: January 3, 2024I bought some large canvas stretchers from them looking to save some money. I have been stretching canvases for overt 50 years and am an expert. These cheap chinese made stretchers broke, warped and bent. They refused to refund me, let me ship them bqck or even give me credit because ''you took too long to tell us''. As if you stretch big canvases the second you get them. You better know what you are getting before you buy from the, This was the first and LAST time for me. You guys suck Jerry's Artarama! And who would call themselves that silly name in the forst place. Sounds like a clown house.
Date of experience: June 2, 2022I bought Artfix linen (oil primed) and it has such a bad smell that it triggered allergies and I can't be in the same room with the roll. Also the primer is yellowed so badly that I don't want to paint on it. Jerrys will accept the return, but forces me to pay for shipping which, as this is a rather large roll (85 inches) is close to $100. This roll should never have been sold just based on the color of the primer, and the fact that when I touch it, the powder from the primed surface comes off on my fingers.
Products used:I am using Centurian linen oil primed, not using artfix oil primed linen which is yellow and smells musty and moldy, and makes it hard for me to breathe.

Date of experience: October 20, 2023Due to the Jerry's website entering the wrong price for an item I ordered, I was sent the wrong item. When I phoned, they said they would add a $5 credit, which I thought was fine. I still had to go and buy the item physically in another store though as I needed it that week.
But I was making another order online today and I noticed that they didn't add any credits to my account at all. $5 isn't going to make a big difference I know but it's the spirit of the thing. It was their mistake after all. I think I've spend a lot of money at Jerry's over the years but I'm constantly irritated at the website's clunkiness and this just annoyed me too much. There are many other suppliers out there and so I'm off to the competition. Just too many mistakes and their clunky website is very frustrating.

I contacted the company multiple times including filing a damaged item report, sent photos, and follow-up emails as I was being completely ignored by customer service. I also called and spoke with an agent twice. The first time, I was blown off. I was finally given permission to return the damaged item yet was only given a partial refund for an improperly manufactured item. Apparently, Jerry's Artarama does not stand by the products they sell, ignores their customers when there is a problem, and short-changes them if they think they can get away with it. Better Business Bureau complaint filed. I should have been given a full refund for this item - including the tax I paid them, which they have also kept. Bye, Jerry's! There are SO many other choices out there for Artists.
Tip for consumers:Jerry’s will not stand by the products they sell and will ignore their customers when there is a problem. They will also try to issue a partial refund for damaged items they send, rather than a full-refund, if they think the customer will not push back.

Customer service is a joke and when you are actually able to reach them, they are rude and unprofessional. People, please please and please, do not do business with this company and let the world know about it.
Date of experience: March 15, 2023I call customer severice yesterday several times and finally had someone to answer. I told them that most of my order didn't arrive. The customer service representative acted like he was not concerned. Didn't even apologize for my inconvenience. I had to call them many of times in the past just and not have anyone answer the phone and when they do its not pleasant at all! I haven't received an email as to my issue but the representative said it would taken care of and my order would be sent out again. I hope so, because I need my art supplies as I am an artist. I think I will find another company to order my art supplies! Customer service is very important because if it wasn't for the customer they wouldn't be in business the start with! Until they get customer service right, I do believe they will lose customers.

No one answers than sent email with photo of damaged item and no response... will never order from them again... company does not care for customer satisfaction. After a week of attempts gave up

Date of experience: March 6, 2016I would strongly recommend Cheap Joe's over Jerry's Artarama. This is why:
*the website is slow and even if you delete a product don't assume it's been deleted at checkout. Returns are very costly
*i ordered linen canvases and received the wrong ones. The packages were badly damaged. They will not accept online returns at the stores; yet charge you for return postage. For instance a $26 purchase costs $19 to return! Bull$#*!!
*A 1 1/2" linen canvas is $42.00 in the store; online it is $16. Same item!
They do not apply discount codes for exchanges and you are paying full current price for exchange. You also pay return postage which can cost more than the product
I strongly urge artists to go elsewhere to buy supplies. Until financial pressure is put on this business they will continue to put the customer last

Date of experience: March 14, 2014Don't order from Jerry's Artarama. My brush has wires that are popping out which continue to pop out even with using pliers. I have not duct-taped it. What a shame for such an expensive brush! The customer service wouldn't refund or offer any kind of compensation - just told me to "order another one". Why would I do that? I've decided not to shop with them anymore.
Date of experience: February 20, 2020Products are great, and prices are the lowest I have found anywhere. I've been a happy customer for years.
Recently, I bought 5 plein air frames (a wonderful product which I like because of its rich gold finish). They are sturdily built but arrived damaged from abnormally rough treatment somewhere along the line. Jerry's replaced them quickly, with good cheer -- never any hassles with them.
Jerry's did not ask me to write this review -- I just want to reward their excellent customer service. I've never had any complaints.

Same with live chat. No interest in helping. The prices sound good but spend a little more and find a reliable company.

Date of experience: June 3, 2021Shipping is so slow it'll take you about a month to receive. They use basically the slowest and cheapest shipping method possible. Jerry's sent me a coupon for $5 off and 2 free gifts for a $59+ order on my birthday. Cart was over $100+ and coupon kept saying invalid. Contacted customer service and was told that it can't be used on anything that has a dollar sign crossed out... basically EVERYTHING on the site. What a waste of my time totally bait and switch. I will never order from such a stingy company again and their terrible customer service.
Date of experience: June 7, 2020I don't know how a business can conduct themselves in such a condescending manner. After my personal experience, I've shared with many how awful it is they ship used items with missing parts and then treat the customer like an idiot.
I deeply encourage everyone to shop elsewhere. Don't waste your money (you'll just receive defective products with an attitude when you report the defect and/or the return of a product).
Overall, my experience is well on its way to a fraudulent experience.

There has only been twice that I've had to call customer service abt a problem and they resolved the problem right away and sent me replacements. They ship usually within 24 hrs. They also have a fantastic art education side with hundreds of fun and informative videos, especially their Jerry's Live series on youtube and facebook.
Date of experience: September 19, 2020I have had good luck in the past but not recently. I ordered a large linoleum block, which came damaged. After submitting a photo I was promptly advised that a replacement would be sent right away. Still no replacement and still waiting. Packing was inadequate for something this heavy. Corners were not protected. I am skeptical about the condition of the replacement. SInce I already am ready to go with all the preliminary steps in place and it's an unusual size, I have no choice but to continue, or to start over on a big project. Disappointing for sure.
