Kabbage Working Capital Review
At one time offered business loans, but cut all customers' lines of credit to $0 without warning (Google the Bloomberg article reporting on Kabbage related to this topic). I'd question everything about this firm's management practices, and would steer well clear of a business relationship with them.
Date of experience: June 14, 2020Thomas Lynch has been nothing but helpful and courteous in dealing with a situation with a client who is refusing to pay us for two very expensive projects. While we work on a resolution, we have used Kabbage to fill the void left by this customer. And while I appreciate Thomas' high degree of professionalism, the Kabbage loan terms are themselves extremely steep. I recommend them as a stopgap for situations like ours where you can pass along the expense, but they are a costly choice to fund business growth. I am giving them four stars for Thomas Lynch, and knocking off one star because they position themselves as a company that helps small businesses grow, and objectively their terms do not support that.
Date of experience: January 20, 2016The customer service agent was awesome, patient and so helpful in regards to payment options. She explained how the 3 different ways I can pay off my account. I would highly recommend Kabbage to any business looking for quick cash to help their business~
Date of experience: December 13, 2017Their ads says $50,000 min, in business one year. Jumped through all kind of hoops providing info only to be denied for the reasons I discussed in the interview. Will not get a second chance to say no.
Date of experience: February 6, 2017Kabbage claims they are "supporting" everyone in regions impacted by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Instead, they have chosen to all but eliminate the credit lines of business owners in these regions. Their actions as a company speak so much louder than their words.
As Kabbage customer for over two years, I have a solid payment track record and millions in revenue. I'm shocked at their decision to virtually eliminate my line of credit.
These regional decisions were made without reviewing ANY financial information. My businesses were closed for two days, didn't sustain any damage and the only significant issue we had to work around was loss of internet service. This impact is comparable to a snow storm in the north during the winter. According to the manager I spoke with they are NOT adjusting credit lines on a case by case basis as they've publicly stated.
Tip for consumers:Strongly consider who you want to partner with as you grow your business. Their values and lack of personalize service were illustrated during these natural disasters.

Date of experience: September 14, 2017As a new customer with Kabbage, I had a few questions and issues with the overall process, primary/secondary accounts and so forth, shortly after receiving approval.
When I spoke with Anna during my first call, it was obvious that she works with each client personally and takes ownership to resolve the issue completely.
In my case, she went out of her way to speak with the operations staff about my issue, communicated with me about what needed to happen and set realistic expectations about timing for resolution. When it was resolved, she made sure that all was in order and that I was all set to use the account.
Anna's just taken the same personal approach in resolving a more recent issue, so it's obvious that she truly "gets it" and does what it takes to address all client concerns.
Anna is an exceptional client service representative - five stars from me!
Date of experience: January 12, 2018I've taken out two loans using Kabbage because I needed to fund my inventory requirements quickly. The process to obtaining loans from them is easy, but the terms are are too predatory for me to come back. The high interest rate with fees that I paid were 28% for 6 months for both loans. Annualized that's 56% interest rate. They connect to your bank, paypal and ebay to ensure they'll collect. I don't have a problem paying that monthly commitment as I contractually agreed to do, however, I have excellent business records and have always paid bills on time. For them to charge such high fees, to me, is considered a scam. Then after the loans are paid in full, they no longer allow me to borrow again. That's fine, I will never do so. To Kabbage and your interest rate algorithm - hope it blows up in your face.
Date of experience: February 7, 2017These are done by employees of the company. If you look at each review, the person has only one review. These also come after negative reviews. Trust me as an actual user of KABBAGE, use a different funding source. Please se my previous review.
Date of experience: May 28, 2016If this is even legal they are just bending the law, using things like fee instead of interest rate... Complete scam... Trust me they will be investigated soon... In any loan if you pay off part of the loan you should only be charged interest or fee on the amount you owe... Not with them. If you borrow $1000 and repay $900 in a 5 days, they charge you full interest/fee on the full $1000... NEVER HEARD OF THIS... Don't Do It... This is a bad loan... You have to be very desperate. It was my fault I didn't read the entire agreement but the rep said you only get charged for your outstanding balance...
Date of experience: July 2, 2015Been in business over 50 years, tons of corporate and business experience, never have dealt with a more underhanded, trivial, inexperienced, spiteful company in our experience. Do not use this service and tell all of your affiliates the same. If there was a rating lower than a 1 that what we would have picked. It has nothing to do with paying back as the other bad reviews have, we never even got past the application process as the reps were very inexperienced and it is obvious they're not customer oriented. It really was just such a joke, and a bad experience, and we keep our vendors and affiliates for decades usually. Highly advise NOT doing business with them. They're not someone you'd want handling any kind of finances for your company.
Tip for consumers:Do not use them.

Date of experience: May 14, 2015I was approved for a PPP loan and I was never able to accept the loan do to issues with their website. I called them over 50 times and sent numerous e-mails with no response. When you call your call is automatically dropped after a few minutes in the Que. Now my PPP loan is denied because I could not take action within the 20 day time limit and I am being told I can't apply for another loan by other Lenders. Worst customer service ever and their actions will have implications to my employees and their lives. I can't even apply using another lender. I would never recommend using them for anything.
Very disappointed
Date of experience: August 5, 2020I was approved for a PPP loan but, can't get the funds deposited into my account. I've called and emailed dozens of times in the past two weeks to try and get my account info updated but no response. Now they tell me my loan offer may be cancelled. It would just take a few minutes to help me, it seems crazy they wont even respond or try to help. Don't take on loans you can't service when people's businesses are on the line
Date of experience: August 16, 2020From reading their policies -- this is no more than a loan shark. From their own example you borrow $10,000 and pay $1200 in fees or 12% in 6 months. That is a 24% loan. If you are desperate for a 24% loan go for it. This may work for people with short term cash flow issues between contract payment and bills due. But there are many other services for that which should be less than 1% per month.
Date of experience: March 21, 2015On the day they took a $6600 payment from me, the reduced my available cash to less then the remaining loan. They claimed that I was over obligated and that my FICO score was low (664?). It put me in a horrible position with regard to my rent and property taxes. I had never missed a payment either.
They are tantamount to a revolving charge account that you use when your new business has caused you to max out your cards. No more than that. And a high expense one to boot!
Date of experience: March 23, 2016Horrible customer service. Need to sign loan documents and can't get it taken care off. I have called and emailed for days and no word back. On top of the fact that it took me 3 times to get them everything they needed, even though I was told each time I had submitted everything. In a time where the funds are needed, regarding the PPP loan and can't even get an answer back from them is ridiculous.
I have NEVER dealt with worse customer service in my life. Completely unacceptable!
Date of experience: May 7, 2020Kabbage is a bait and switch company. They lead into of lot of loans and very high origination fees. When you have most of the debt paid off and get behind in payments they don't tell you but they sell it to a financial company that sues you for the money. Thats right they sue you. I've lived for 60 years and not once have been sued. Stay away from these sleazy lenders.
Date of experience: March 31, 2017Tried to get an online checking account with them. Was asked to "provide documents" multiple times despite providing them and making multiple calls with their staff from India who were useless. Was sent a rejection email today because "I didn't call them to confirm documents." Kabbage seems like another indian scam.

Date of experience: January 27, 2022After 2 weeks of virtual response, we received an email saying we were declined because we are not eligible? So we have moved our business to a real institution which processed our information in 48 hours
Date of experience: April 27, 2020Extremely high interest rate and will go after any sort of funding options you give them, paypal, bank accounts etc. They say the more funding options you provide, the higher you can qualify for NOT, they just want more options to get their money back ASAP. On 5000. 00 I was charged 1250. 00. Outrageous! If you want an easy funding source and have paypal, try Paypal Working Capital. Love it! Get funding up to 11,000 each time and even though I end up paying back over 2,000 a month, it comes out of each transaction that is processed so I do not have to worry about making a payment. If I have a bad month, it is ok, it can go out numerous months. On 11,000 loan, my interest or loan fee was 1200. 00. Kabbage actually put me in a bad spot and I was grateful when it was finally paid off. Do Not Do It!
Date of experience: June 9, 2017Kabbage is not a bank. Therefore it is not required to follow banking regulations, nor the consumer protections those regulations provide. They offer a "contract" for a cash "advance" and charge extremely high fees amounting to 30-40% of the principal, all payable within the very short time frame of 6 months. A Kabbage "loan" will destroy your business with dizzying rapidity if you are not careful. Do not take the bait. It is poison for your business.
Date of experience: April 30, 2015I have called a million times with no answer. It has my bank account on profile, even did the micro deposits, however it won't allow me to verify my bank. Now they have suspended funding. I had high hopes of getting my business back on track.
Date of experience: July 1, 2020Never again. Never will I recommend this company to anyone. They somehow took two very large payments out of our business account and a week later still have not returned it. Now our business account is negative and no refund of our over payment 7 days later. The staff is not helpful and very rude with their own mistake. I have asked for a transaction receipt to prove that they put the monies back in our account and they say that don't have one! Very scary for a small business owner. They have caused very serious issues now with our business and this loan should have helped. BEWARE to ALL!
Date of experience: July 24, 2017I just intended to use Kabbage as a backup when I had cash flow issues in my business and signed up. I was approved and then was regularly hounded by rude employees, mostly it appeared to be from the middle east, on the phone and by email demanding to know if I ever intended to use it. I explained repeatedly that I would use it if needed. Finally I sent an email about how rude they were and they evidently dropped my approved line of credit as I received an invitation to apply for a loan again. Probably a good thing I never used them.
Date of experience: February 11, 2017I had Kabbage a few years ago and they ruined my business, everytime i made 1 dollar they took it. They always steal your money late at night, like a crook. After i paid them off, i switched to Pay Pal Working Capitol and i have not had any problems what so ever, even got more money and they don't steal.
Date of experience: September 19, 2015We received an email from kabbage that our new line was placed in hold only weeks after they approved it. The sent this message yesterday. We have a substantial operation and purchase millions in supplies. We have no financial challenges whatsoever. We were using them for pay later on alibaba which would seem faster than wiring money all the time.
I dont recommend kabbage.
Their process is misleading.
They want to connect to your bank accounts- fortunately we only connected them to a minor credit union account for payments.
After reading reviews I wish we had done our homework first.
Their coronavirus policy is hurting people. We will not be completing the "bank accounts" verification process now and have dumped them.
