I have been with Sears since 1979. Protection agreement. When first started off with this ideal of an agreement for all my appliances it worked out fine. Until the last few years. It takes them 4 to 6 months to replaces your appliances if they conk out on you no longer able to fix. Then they won't even reverse your money back to you. Your out of pocket money for having to go to the laundrymat or whatever the lost may be. Not good.
Tip for consumers:Purchase a washer through the Sears protection agreement program. But every week they call saying we need to reschedule your delivery. On going for up to months at a time before I ever get my replacement. Then I have to pay out of pocket to get my clothes washed. Not fair to customers.

QualitySadly, to say, our experience has been absolutely horrible. We bought a part from sears when we find out we no longer needed the part. They told us that they will give us a refund. We are still after 10 business days have yet to get any type of reply from the company on the status of our refund. No email no call absolutely nothing. Do not buy anything from this place. Their customer service is absolutely horrible and they do not care about the customer whatsoever. Save your money go elsewhere.
Tip for consumers:Do not go here. It is a complete waste of time and money. They do not care about you as a customer.

QualityI needed an appliance repaired (not bought at Sears). I was shuttled to a call center (apparently out of the country). All I wanted was an idea of their rates. After answering way too many questions about me (not about my problem). I was finally told the rate started at over $200. This is more than twice any other rate.
They priced themselves out of a simple repair scored a low rating and a notation to never call them again.

QualityI was told that my purchases would be put on a 18-month promotional no interest payment period, but with my 2nd bill I noticed that I was in fact being charged interest. I called the call center and yes, was annoyed with the long automation, but when I did finally get to a customer service rep she was able to help me. She was clearly from another country, but I could tell she were trying to sound as if she were from the United States. While I found that funny, it was nice to be able to understand her better than other calls centers that have outsourced to Asia. She was able to resolve my issue.

QualityBought an upright freezer and paid for extra delivery on Saturday. Got a text an email daily reminding me of the delivery, then got a time frame. After time frame came and went called and they said the item didn't come in and will have to be rescheduled. Would of been nice to get notified of this and not hasd to call to find out after blocking out our Saturday. No wonder why the place is bankrupt.

ShippingAn order for 2 appliances made almost a month ago was charged to my credit card but has not yet arrived. Absolutely no communication and when I called customer service I couldn't even understand the person I was talking to. They kept telling me it would be delivered to the store yesterday but couldn't understand yesterday was a day ago. Worst company ever. Deal with your local sears store and not sears.com.

So keep sears alive give em a shot again keep em aliveI bought a new garage door opener (Chamberlain) from Sears Online, they contract out to a (3rd party) installation, I paid $130 for install directly to Sears Online, the company is not qualified to install this brand, they never gave me a refund as services were not rendered. Stay away. I will never use them again, plus there call center in Asia is so unorganized, and there phone staff has a extremely low IQ and not trained properly.

QualityNowhere else will you receive such an extensive warranty on quality tools. Tool prices are comparable at my local Sears store and staff members are helpful and courteous.Beware! Do not buy sears refrigerator s... the compressors go out and they won't fix it. Repair men can't get parts and won't show up. These fridges have LG compressors and last only a little over a year. Sears won't answer the phones for service or complaints. They have lost all customer service. Once they get your money they won't communicate with you again

QualityA little pricey but service on my warrantied equipment has been very good. Online support is usually quick and my authorized service tech is great and so is the Sears Hometown store mgr.Our hometown Sears store in Astoria, Oregon shows why locally owned stores are the best. Thea and Rick are as friendly and helpful as you can get. Thea helped us today with all of our major appliances for our new house build, helping with what we need and want rather than the other way around like you find in many big box stores.

I will never purchase a sears product again. Nearest repair place is 200 miles from me.the idiot rep. Had no idea what to do for me. Really bad customer care..

QualityIt is good enough if you want to check if they have something on stock. While i would say that I wouldnt use it to browse for the sake of it, seems to tell you when they have something available, where to get it and if it has discount. The UI is clear and will help you find whatever you need, while also telling you of similar products or things that, in theory you´d find in that aisle or on that same line of products.Clear, direct and easy to use are some of the words I´d use to describe the page.I got My husband a Lawnmower that came with a life time Warranty from Sears. We took it in to be fixed and they said they don't make the parts no more so they can no longer Warranty the Lawnmower. It was suppose to be a lifetime Warranty.

My order came on the date that they said it would, I got free shipping since my order was over $25, and I was happy with how my items were packed (i. E., in one box, there were two items, one was a box of 100 garbage bags and the other was laundry detergent, and they put the laundry detergent into a bubble bag so that it would not leak onto the rest of my order). I had received shipments from other companies where it looked like someone had thrown the items into the box and then slapped tape on it. Sears packed my box with meticulous care and I was impressed. I also had to call the 800 number about this order and the representative was very friendly and helpful. I will shop at Sears.com again!

QualityOrdered a brand new washer from sears.com and it does not work. They refuse to replace it. TOTAL lemon. We have called and dealt with them for 5 months and they just keep telling us to try different settings on the washer but will not replace it or give us our money back. $1200 out and now we have to try to dispute it on our credit card. We started calling them immediately when we got the washer because it didn't work. Waited 2 months for a service appointment and it still won't work. We've wasted so much time on this and still don't have a working washer. Its sickening.

QualityWe ordered an item online, it was delivered broken. In writing they promised to deliver a replacement and pick up broken item. They broke their promise and would not help in any manner, including a refund or discount. They claimed we had to drive over an hour to return it back to the store. We ended up having to dispute the charge through our credit card company and won after months of waiting. A complete scam, would NEVER order from them again. They were the least helpful company we have ever worked with.

QualitySears has an excellent baby department. Way better then the special stores. Pricing is for all budgets. They carry an excellent stock of everything possible for a newborn to 5 years old.No where on there help page was there a list for helping with gift cards. If you cant use them on line it should be stated so.

QualityWe bought a dishwasher few month ago. Since Sears installation charges almost double of the local plumber, we paid local for installation. During the process of moving, water leaking on the dinner room floor. After first try out washing, water won't drain completely. I called plumber for help. I was told that I have to call Sears, it was a default product. However, Sears call center in foreign country refuse arrange plumber even to take a look. I was told that they can ship me another one, if I can put the default one the box ready for moving.

QualityUse to be able to talk with some one on anything and they knew how to use it if it was tool or wood working. The sales staff can help you find something, but very little knowledge if any on the item or how to use.Sears has stooped to a new low: scamming folks out of thousands using the $179 air duct cleaning service to enter your home and rip you off to the tune of two to over five thousand dollars. First they will take a picture of the interior air handler unit and show you all this dust, then they start the pitch: promise to clean your complete system. They do not answer to the Better Business, Business Consumer Alliance, nor Attorney General Consumer Complaint. Shame on you - Sears!This one is a heartbreaker. Sears and Roebuck was literally the backbone of the American retail experience for decades. It stood for practical quality at a fair and affordable price. They sold everything from farm implements, tools, clothing, household goods, toys, appliances... one could even buy a mail order house during the 1930s and finance the purchase with a Sears backed mortgage.
Overtime it met with major competition. Then its no frills basic solid quality dipped. The stores became staffed with non-English speakers. Then mergers took place.
I think most are boarded up and shuttered now... my last attempt at commerce with them was a horrendous disappointment in that they further damaged the appliance I had brought in to have repaired.
At one point the Sears and Roebuck catalog was a regular item in every US household.
This wonderful old store has come to such an inglorious end.
Five stars back then... one star now.
I will out of respect keep it five stars.
