The site automatically populated an order that I did not want. There was not purchase review screen. I went to the cart and directly got a confirmation number. I hit the cancel button and it said that the time frame to cancel had expired- it had only been about 2 seconds and their site says 1 hour to cancel.
When I emailed them, they said they cannot cancel OR make any changes to the order, even though it was only minutes later. They said I can return it. Which will be impossible, b/c the order was made for an incorrect address... as I said there was no review screen, it just took my info from google or whatever (I don't even know b/c I never agree to save my info)
Anyway, they make it so their faulty site TAKES your money very quickly, and they have NO desire to help you with your order in any way even seem to care if you receive it.

Date of experience: November 28, 2024I purchased the high Power Short two weeks ago. What a waste of money! Those Spanx rolled down my waist each time I wear them. $38.00 gone down the drain. How can I return this junk? Ladies, stop supporting businesses that waste our time and resources!

Date of experience: July 4, 2023After reading all of the negative reviews along with the replies from Spanx saying that products could be easily returned within 90 days, I ordered two sizes with every intention of keeping the ones that fit best. What they DIDN'T say in those replies… that they charge $7.95 to make a return.

Date of experience: December 15, 2023Where have these been all my life?! Bought my first pair, flare jeans. Well made, fit beautifully. My only complaint is that they are very long if you want to wear flat shoes (I ordered regular) but thats an easy fix. Absolutely love them!

Date of experience: June 17, 2023It's a fact that one really unhappy customer tells at least 10 other people when a company doesn't do what they said they were going to do. But… when someone purchases an item and it turns out to be a quality control issue, and the individual has paid shipping both ways even though they were told the return shipping would be free, it's not a good look for the company. I was given a "special" link by a Spanx Team Member for the free return shipping and was still charged. I have contacted them 4 times to no avail. That is my only experience with the company and will be the last. I have worked roughly 8 years for Talbots and let me tell you, that type of customer service would simply get you fired.

Date of experience: December 11, 2023I bought a pair of slacks for about $148 with the welcome coupon. Ordered directly from Spanx for the longer inseam. A week later the price was cut in half. It took a long time to receive my order, consequently, the price had already changed before its arrival.
Spanx doesn't do price adjustments.
So I returned them within the 60-day time frame. Now Spanx is not processing the return of this unworn item, in the original garment bag, with the tags attached.
USPS records demonstrate the item arrived at the return center. It was sent in the original Spanx bag and with the Spanx label.
In my experience Spanx is not responsive to emails. My efforts to reach someone on the phone have not yielded results. Tough to anticipate ever buying from them again. It's hard to understand why this company's customer service would be either this poorly executed or off the charts sleazy.
Date of experience: December 15, 2023I ordered the mens ultra sculpt t-shirt and boxer briefs. I paid for overnight shipping because I needed them for a suit fitting. (wedding officiant). They never arrived as per the overnight charge I paid. Customer service will not respond at all. Was lied to about the shipment date. I demanded a refund on the shipping and was ignored. I will be returning the products as SOON as they arrive with a note in them telling them to go F*** themselves. Id rather go through the strain of wearing a Colombian Faja or have a male corset made then deal with this crap. Seriously never again.
Tip for consumers:THEY CHARGE A $7.95 FEE FOR RETURNED ITEMS. AND THEY DO NOT RESPOND ON THEIR CHAT. GARBAGE COMPANY

Sorry Spanx, you need to either get some other celebrity or just use stand alone advertising. If your product is really that great, ditch Windfry.
Tip for consumers:if you must use celebs to sell your product, look at the reputation first. Oprah bad mouths to grift from us and she really doesn't care nor give back.Her choice of "friends" is highly questionable and her interview of Prince Harry was phony.

Date of experience: December 4, 2023I ordered a pair of jeans from their website. I choose "Medium". I was charged and then received an email stating the website made an error and defaulted to XS. They told me there was no way they could change the order even though the item wasn't shipping for three days. INSTEAD, I need to send the XS jeans back to them, wait for a refund and then order new ones. They could have stopped the order since the mistake was caught prior to shipping but they chose not to. I like some of their clothes but can find same type/quality other retailers with better customer service. BYE Spanx you lost a customer that would have been with you for a lifetime!

Products used:I ordered jeans but will be returning them as they shipped me the wrong size. Based on such poor customer service I will not be reordering and will find a similar pair of jeans at EVEREVE or Anthropologie who have better customer service.

So they charge you DOUBLE for shipping when ordering and then a THIRD time if you return their items. Overpriced and greed at it's finest!

I asked if I could get a credit for the merchandise at this flash sale price and the answer was no. So I can return the merchandise and order again and then I would get the sales price. How ridiculous is this!
Date of experience: December 11, 2023I placed an order on 1 article on a saturday morning. The next day I wanted to cancel it since my needs changed. It said my order could not be cancelled because of their short shipping process. It was a sunday afternoon. Ok so be it, I make my mind that I will still use the article later, if not now. 9 days later, I receive an email saying my order has been canceled because the article is out of stock. This was bought for a specific and important date, and this experience makes me feel like this company is not reliable. Why couldn't I cancel my order in the first place then? It also makes them look dishonest. If I really needed the article for the wedding as planned, I would be in trouble. Not a very great experience.

Date of experience: September 26, 2023Ordered an expensive blazer in petite. Jacket came relatively quickly, but pattern makers totally forgot to make arms appropriate for a short woman. They hung to my knees and were both placketed and lined requiring an expensive alteration on an already expensive jacket. THEN, was told to take the return to a specific Walgreens, they refused it. Then took to a mailbox place where they took it, and it came right back to me by mail. Then went to FEDEX where they told me it had to go to UPS. Then UPS where a helpful lady got me the phone #. STILL not returned. I will NEVER order anything from them again.

I washed them as directed - the discoloration is not through out, it's spotty. Reached out to customer service and they only offered 10% off my next purchase. Very disappointed in the product! NEVER AGAIN! Pants are ruined - please keep in mind that I don't wear them often, so they have not been washed but 3 times since I've had *******@spanx

Date of experience: October 3, 2022Spanx website and customer service are awful. What I ordered was completely opposite from what I received. When I asked customer service their initial response was a gift card for an item I just purchased and not even a refund, which is stupid in itself.
It was also a Christmas gift and they refused to overnight a different pair so I can have something under the tree. First time shopping here and won't purchase again.
Tip for consumers:Don’t. There’s plenty of other legging sites.

Date of experience: December 23, 2022Placed an order and realized I entered the wrong shipping address. Called within 5 minutes of placing and there was nothing they could do other than tell me I could send it back (at a cost of $10 - my mistake so I was willing to eat that). Placed a second order to the correct address with expedited shipping (1-3 days) at an additional cost. It is now going on to day three and the order hasn't even left the warehouse. Contacted customer service yet again and nothing they can do. Don't know why it hasn't been shipped, can't cancel the order(s) can't refund the extra shipping. All they could do was say sorry and that their hands were tied. So now I am impatiently waiting for two orders that I will return (as I won't have the item for the event I needed it for) and I have to pay to return them even though they didn't fulfill the expedited shipping promise. So very frustrated. My advice? Don't bother using rush shipping or trying to get assistance.
Tip for consumers:That customer service will not be able to do anything for you. Either by phone or by chat.

Date of experience: December 1, 2022This product would be so much better if the eyes for the hooks were smaller. They won't stay hooked together because the eyes are way too big. It's very aggravating that is why I only gave a one star rating.
Date of experience: April 6, 2022I ordered Spanx high rise flares to take on a trip. I had carefully assessed the length issue and based upon what is on line ordered regular. I'm 5'7', their site states that petite is for much shorter individuals/that their pants are a length suitable for a higher heel. Pants arrived, and were 3 " on more too long - called today to see if they would send expedited shipping so I could have for trip in petite, explained I'm an attorney, new customer, likely will order more but need these pants for trip. They said it would be another $26+ for shipping to expedite - I asked for manager and was told no manager available for 24 hours or longer. She apologized but said there is no fix unless I pay the extra expedited shipping. I explained I'd return them and would not be ordering again, that at my office we would not treat a client in this way, especially with the misleading information on length. Disappointed to say the least.
Tip for consumers:DO NOT ORDER THE REGULAR LENGTH PANTS IF 5'7 " regardless of their sizing information, unless you wear 4" or higher heels.

I was told it would be sent to a PayPal account and asked for my email. Now when I call about it, I get no response. Never buying from Spanx Online again.

Date of experience: December 20, 2021This company is INFLEXIBLE. You cannot get your $ back. I accidentally ordered an extra pair leggings. I noticed my error as soon hit purchase. I called to correct, literally minutes afterward. They will not modify the order. Totally inflexible. So I have to pay additional $$ to return what I do not want. This is not only inconvenient for me, the customer, but also for the USPS/ UPS just before the holiday season. Shame on Spanx.

Apparently you can not change or cancel your order if you don't do it within 30 minutes after the order is placed. I paid 180$ for 3 items and won't be able to wear them on my next week's trip!
Date of experience: October 16, 2019My fault, I didn't check before I bought it. Arrived and didn't fit, return cost me $15.00 and I folded this tank top the smallest that it would fold, which was pretty small and the thinnest paper envelope I could get and I lost $15 from $60.00 because the SPANX didn't fit. Not good, so if you don't mind losing $15.00 off of what you paid, then go for it but I won't make the same mistake twice.
Tip for consumers:If you don’t mind paying the huge return shipping fee, then go for it.
