As others have experienced, Vayama is a terrible company. They are refusing to refund me $1400 for a cancelled flight. The airline has already verbally confirmed to me that I am entitled to it, but Vayama refuses to process the refund after having first told me they were applying for it. They will ignore you and lie to you when they can no longer ignore you. Just deal directly with the airline and not these scammers. Date of experience: February 18, 2021
Terrible / non existent customer service. Attempted to refund or change a flight in the middle of the pandemic. I gave notice a month in advance. They told me to reach out directly to the airlines (Aeromexico & Delta) - both of which noted that they would be available to change flight or give me a flight credit for a later date, but noted I had to go through the agency to do so (Vayama). Vayama didn't get back to me after 10 attempts to get in touch, and no phone service. Then they would not refund or credit after the airlines confirmed. Had to dispute with my bank but my claim did not go through. Do not trust them. Date of experience: October 9, 2020
Bunch of dishonest people. Waiting for my refund since July of 2019. They keep telling me about COVID, which started 6-9 months later. Airline already told the agency to refund my money several times, but they keep ignoring. Filed a complaint with BBB. Stay away! The worst company I have ever booked my tickets through. I booked my parents tickets prior to Covid ban using their website, and the funny part is that its been months since the airlines have refunded my entire amount but Vayama chose to eat up my $200 for the flight getting cancelled. Wonderful Service! Date of experience: September 9, 2020
I bought tickets in January for a trip to South Korea in March, which of course was cancelled by the airline company due to the pandemic. They stopped customer service via phone and started sending automated emails. The last I heard from them was three months ago in June, saying they were waiting on the airline company to approve the refund request. It is now mid October, I just called the airline company and they said they refunded me in July. THREE MONTHS AGO. Which means I should've had my money back by now but Vayama is obviously keeping the money. Buyer beware! It is a scam! Date of experience: October 15, 2020
Horrible customer service! They are not helpful at all and just clueless of what they are doing. I have been trying to make chsnges to my flight but nobody has been able to help and they are giving excuses That makes no sense and not helping me. Really really don't recommend Date of experience: October 26, 2020
I had a medical emergency at home and I needed to change my return flight. First, you can only communicate with them via chat there phone number does not work. To make the change I was charged EUR 228.00 and I was fine with that. However, they would not provide me with a boarding pass or a confirmation number. My gut told me that it was a scam! So, I ended up buying a ticket with another airline. When I reached out again, I was told I would not be refunded the EUR 228.00, again I said then provide with a boarding pass or refund. Finally, after going back and forth I was told that my ticket was never changes and that I would be refunded however, to date I have not received my refund. Also, when asked about a refund the agent sent a screenshot saying that I would not get a refund. TERRIBLE! Tip for consumers:Do t=yourself a favor and do not use this site. It is TERRIBLE!!!!! I gave this one Star because zero Stars wasn't an option. We booked a flight from them right before Covid hit. The airline canceled the flights and returned the money to Vayama, who then was supposed to return it to us. They never did. We did everything we were supposed to do to get our refund. Sad! I booked an airline ticket that was economy class and came with a carryon luggage. When the airline email arrived, it was a basic economy ticket with no carryon. Forget about customer service. They don't care and don't speak English. Date of experience: September 9, 2020
Be careful before you choose Vayama in case you need to cancel a flight and expect refund. They never attend any call, never. Their effort to solicit the dispute of refund due to COVID related flight cancellation is below lackluster. Be very careful. Date of experience: September 20, 2020
I booked an airline ticket ith them. After three days they sent me an email stating that the bank had not authorized the payment and it would be refunded. Instead they refunded me 12 euros (rather than the 669 owed). When calling them they said that it was "a scam booking" and they did not have to refund the total amount. They said that they still have the payment on their side but would simply not refund it and that I would need to do a chargeback with the bank. They refused to send confirmation of this Absolutely a fraudulent organization. Do not do business with them. Archana Date of experience: August 14, 2023
Before COVID, I booked a round trip tickets for my mother through Vayama with a Chinese airline. Then COVID happen, the airline offered full refund for the cancelled flight. The airline confirmed to me that they have processed the refund to Vayama 1 week after we cancelled the flight. I have been in contact with Vayama for more than 8 months and still couldn't get a refund. For the first 6 months, they said it was under processing. Now they said that the Chinese airline is under Chapter 11 and has never refund to them. This is a ridiculous lie. Chapter 11 is a United States bankruptcy code. A Chinese company can never and will never file Chapter 11 in United States. There is no such concept as Chapter 11 in China. Also, by the way, that Chinese Company is in great shape as I checked today. I should mention I am a certified attorney both in China and United States. I bought a flight that I could not use them. I rang to the Vayama Customer Service and they told me that I will get back my money (also I have an email where say that my ticket will be fully refundable). So, I bought a new flight for another day cheaper in another company (because I gonna get back my money). After 6 times talking by phone whit someone from the customer service (it was more that 3 hours on the phone, because each time that I rang I must wait 20 minutes or more to could talk with someone), they sent me an email that "unfortunately I will not get back my money"... to easy for their job, just said that I will lose 600 euros. And that is it.. Date of experience: February 19, 2020
No transparent cancellation policy. Its better to book tickets on a different site rather than booking in vayama and getting cheated. If you really happen to reschedule or cancel then they would ensure that half of the ticket price is charged as a fee Date of experience: December 19, 2016
I cannot leave a zero rating... too bad, Vayama deserves it! Yes, they have decent rates... lousy customer service. Just send them an e-mail Okay. I sent twenty e-mails over five weeks! (That they say will be responded to in 24 hrs... do not bet your house on it.) I also called them five times and spent a combined 90 minutes on hold to talk to a bunch of incompetent, rude customer service representatives. Only one person I talked to (The Last One) had any idea what he was doing, and he actually provided enough customer service that my refund (Partial Refund) was processed. AVOID this site I booked directly with the airlines to Cebu Philippines and saved $800.00 for two round trip tickets! After paying Vayama's steep fees I still saved money booking directly with the airline of MY Choice. Tip for consumers:Avoid this company and the site, You are far better off booking directly with the airline you choose to fly to your destination. Service Value Date of experience: March 2, 2016
Scammers, cheap thieves! Disappeared with our refunds since the first week of March 2020z. Phone is disconnected and they sat an auto email to any email you send (see attachment). I'm gathering customers together for a class action law suit Date of experience: May 21, 2020
Biggest bunch of losers in the world. I've always gone with orbitz and should never, ever ever have gone with vayama... they still haven't refunded my cash, one for a ticket purchased through their other site, cheap tickets... and another from vayama main site, these people take your money, then immediately cancel the purchase, then make it nearly impossible to get your cash back because they don't work well with banks... they're very apologetic, but apologies don't work when you need to be on a flight somewhere. Horrible. Not to be trusted under any circumstance. Pay more, but use a reputable site.. Date of experience: June 26, 2013
We paid for the more expensive flight from Sydney to Orlando for family to visit Florida, with a short stopover in LA, a few weeks ago this gets changed to an almost 10 hour stopover. Vayama have been hopeless, they are clearly gouging the customer, their call center are utterly useless, poorly trained, the team leaders will not let calls be escalated to them. The rep in my case lied, sad. Blamed us, the airlines, then us, and so on. I fly every week around the USA and internationally on a fairly regular basis, we made a mistake here, I usually book with my app direct with the airline, my fault I suppose. I will never recommend Vayama apart recommend don't use them. It makes me feel ill to even call them now. Date of experience: May 26, 2019
Go ahead, use Vayama, I dare you. I will give you 1 million dollars if you can successfully change your ticket... ain't gonna happen. Who would've thought that in 2016 a criminal enterprise could exist. Not me. That's why I didn't read any reviews of Vayama before purchasing through Kayak. I am returning to the states in 3 months. First, I will say hello to my family. The second thing I will do is call Kayak (not Vayama because it is useless), ask for a supervisor, and then drop as many f-bombs as I can before they hang up on me, while simultaneously asking them why they still use Vayama. This is the only way I can bring closure to the single worst travel experience I've had in 25 years. So once again, go ahead, I dare you to use Vayama. Date of experience: October 2, 2016
Corona is the excuse. Now almost a month, I didn't receive my refund despite airline cancel my flight. Vayama stopped the call center. Can't FB message. Only way to communicate is email. They seldom reply back. Silent for weeks. I smell a racket to charge Cancellation fees from us despite airline stop flying. Very bad people. Will never do business with Momondo/Vayama. Tip for consumers:Unprofessional. Very bad customer service. Products used:KUSW-8470012 Service Value Returns Quality Date of experience: March 28, 2020
I booked a refundable ticket in November, 2017 with Vayama and cancelled it a week after. I was charged multiple fees for cancellation, which I paid over the phone to the Customer Support team and received receipts for the same. It is now April 2018 and I have still not received the refund. Vayama insists that the refund had been issued but refuses to give me a receipt or an authorization code. Moreover, they've stopped responding to my mails and customer care puts me on hold and then hangs up when I tell them the problem. Clearly they've made some type of administrative error and are now refusing to refund the money. Stay away from these crooks! Date of experience: March 31, 2018
Wanted to cancel within the 24 hrs allowed by federal law -- they said there would be a $50 cancellation fee. Normally, it is absolutely free if done through airlines. Not sure why they don't follow the law. Date of experience: March 18, 2015
After verbally confirming my wife's departure twice on the telephone, they denied it ever happened and try to sell me a business class ticket for over $10,000. I lost over 4K with them and there mistakes, they never take any responsibility, not only did my wife get stranded and we way over paid, but we Are deeply hurt by this careless company. After calling them multiple times to resolve the issue, all they do is deny deny and make it look like we were in the wrong. Date of experience: March 18, 2020
Booked a ticket through Vayama.com. I did it in the past and there never been any additional luggage charges. Traveling overseas there is always one luggage included in the ticket, not with Vayama. Dropping my luggage at SAS counter I was unpleasantly surprised that there is $120 additional for each way. Never was disclosed anywhere during the booking process, What a scam! Will never book through Vayama again! Customer service was horrible as well keep telling me that there are their luggage policies online which are always changing and I should check them... Seriously? Why nowhere during the booking process there was no indication that luggage will be not included. Stay away from this scam save yourself nerves and money! If I could I would give zero stars... Avoid Vayama at all costs. First of all they failed to contact us regarding a reservation we thought we had made but there was an issue. Then, as a result of their initial blunder, we got our flights mixed up and they wanted to charge $432 for a change to correct the issue on a $132 flight. Worst experience ever. Vayama is a total joke. Zero customer service. If I could rate negative stars that's what they deserve. Date of experience: February 20, 2016
