I've been watching Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch. Until recently, the background special effects (also known as annoying sounds) were minimal. They have ramped up the "noise," which not only cheapens the program, but also makes it impossible to hear the characters talking. I will stop watching it.

Date of experience: August 7, 2024The shows are good, but how many teeth whitenings do you really want to see? Yesterday it was 11 commercials. Yes, in a row. Today it's 12. I'm not seeing this system working for very much longer. So if you love commercials or happen to need a shower in the middle of watching about the Caribbean, this is for you. All others, look elsewhere.
Date of experience: May 18, 2024Now I give up! What's the point of airing episode 1 of a program and then continuing the day after with episode 5? Where will the missing episodes 2.3.4 go? Will they be shown in a few months or show at all?

Date of experience: February 7, 2024I've had Discovery channel since the very beginning. I pay monthly through my Roku app. Now I'm wondering if I should cancel it. Nothing new is on none of the channels. HGTV should be called House Hunters TV cos that's the only time you see a new episodes all other shows are far and in-between with a new season...all the good shows are cancelled like Good Bones and many other. Barbies Dream House was a joke worst show they could have put on TV, makes you wonder who's approving these new shows...there are so many more of the so called new shows that are not good. I've watched every channel on the Discovery TV app and there's no new seasons of anything...what happened! What am I paying for! I'm so disappointed...I really love Discovery TV but I feel I'm wasting money and it's time to let it go.
Date of experience: December 20, 2023I watch discovery every day and pay for discovery+ if you are not go to air npk season 6 at least tell your customers. Only reason I pay for discovery + is for npk and new street outlaws. At least make a statement about it.
Date of experience: May 5, 2024I'm done with discovery. They seem to have canceled the best show there ever was. Street outlaws, me and all 18 of my family members are canceling our subscription and not watching anymore. The new director is awful and does not know how to play what people like..

Then you hear Suddenly (I am so excited this is demolition!) And the whole mood is ruined instantly! You don't want commercials pay waaaayyyyy more! Don't waste your time on Discovery+ people! Their programming isn't that good and their CEO is a massive douche and everyone that works there are soulless scumbags.

Date of experience: December 25, 2023I like the content, and that's about all. I watch mainly using my roku. It is the most frustrating paid app I use! There are a lot of ads and they are repetitive. The most annoying issue I have with this app is its inability to correctly save where I left off on a show. When I go to the continue watching section the shows are there but they are not where I left off, most of the time it's not even the same episode that I left on. Then I have to scroll/rewind/fastforward to try and actually find where I left off.

Date of experience: July 10, 2023My wife and I have been watching D+ for 2 years. Tons of programs 2 picky people can watch together. Housing, Rentals, Vacation, Food, How-to, etc. We rarely have a buffering issue. Not sure why you would be $2 stingy and only pay for the version with commercials. I hate sports and drama and my wife hates sci-fi and history so this works for us. Yes, lots of older seasons so... pick something else if you don't like it. For the price just seems like a great deal to me. We watch D+, Netflix, Amazon which covers everything we could possibly watch.

Same old tired polar bear programs, love them, but not to watch over, and over again. Have Cox high speed internet, continuous buffering is stupid. I work from home. Six open internet pages all day, soft phone, work chat, no problems. Try to watch a program on this channel, buffering. Buffering. Buffering continuously. Cancelling my account.

Date of experience: September 26, 2022It is unconscionable that Discovery has chosen to move content those of us with cable or satellite have been paying for already to Discovery + exclusively. What- we're supposed to pay extra for the same content now? This shows a complete lack of respect for consumers who are smart enough to know that all the "streaming" platform costs add up when coupled with internet service and are no less expensive in the end than having cable or satellite. Is this being driven by disputes with cable/satellite providers over cost? Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water...
Date of experience: February 6, 2021This is the ONLY cloud based channel that buffers, lags and freezes. The menu system lags. Clicking to move around the interface, there's an annoying delay. This is very frustrating. I wish they would hire someone from Netflix to correct their issues because there is absolutely zero reason for the lag other than poor programming. I can't justify spending money on this channel anymore until they fix this very simple flaw. I have 1 gb internet and never have these issues with Netflix, Amazon or any other streaming service i've tried.

BUT lately we have stopped watching and I'm even considering canceling because those commercials are repetitious especially the one from fixer to fabulous and the kids cooking. I've learned them by memory and they repeat them two or three times every 20 minutes and that is not an exaggeration.
I'm not interested in paying for being forced to watch repetitive commercials because of someone's lack of creativity or simply negligence.
Date of experience: February 26, 2023Tired of the lagging freezing having to restart constantly. Then you contact them and they tell you its your internet speed. I have 3 different wifi connections all are high speed and have no other issues but discovery plus. Bad customer service and crappy app. Isn't worth the money and the crappy service making me feel like i don't know how to run my apps. Only reason i gave it one star was cause it wouldn't let me not have no stars.

Keep your kid's away if you want them to think for themselves and not be influenced and brainwashed by all this. Netflix too. Both owned by very demonic people.
Date of experience: July 26, 2022After weeks of wasting my time because I had to write lengthy responses for THEIR app issues, them forcing me to download iPhone updates so it "fixes the problem" (it only made things worse) then saying they'll update me because their "engineering team" is fixing it (that was also a lie), they only NOW told me they don't support my Apple TV device. Why did this take almost a month? They won't even tell me why this took so long and keep avoiding all my questions about their horrible lack of accountability, inconsistency and unreliability.
Their support team didn't know what to do half the time and would send me support instructions that had nothing to do with the devices I own. They refuse to take any accountability for the issues they caused on my phone or for wasting my time the past few weeks with inaccurate information. They have no idea what's going on with their own app and are suppressing all the negative feedback they have in the Apple app store.
Tip for consumers:Don't bother supporting this mess.

Date of experience: December 17, 2021No one wants to watch old, fake lifetime movies. Paying for nothing! New episodes, where? Watching the same thing over and over. Other platforms have the same shows for free. Don't waste your money on this app. There are only a handful of shows that have newish shows that provide new episodes weekly. Other than that you'll be watching shows from 2010. There's nothing new or watchable that's worth paying for.

In addition, if you want it for gold rush type programmes, it is not showing series 15 of bering sea. Apparently it is due to acquisition rights. As soon as an alternate provider carries bering sea series 15, I'm out.
Date of experience: December 20, 2022I got a gift trial and sent it for 30 days and Discovery plus will not honor it they pointed it back at me saying that I used the wrong plastic card, which is not true and now when I try to sign in with another card they say they will not accept the promo code. Horrible company and I do not plan to do any business with them in the future.

Date of experience: November 5, 2021Discovery failed me and us as watchers. My main show is Deadliest catch and to find out about josh harris OMG. I'm a victim myself I was raped at the age of 3 yrs old and ik what I went thru and dealt with fought those demons I'm still fighting. I started watching Deadliest Catch when it cam out 2006. Josh Harris Phil harris jake harris were my main fans. Discovery negligence on doing background checks on these people allowed fans to love and care for a child rapist. Discovery and travel u disgusts me.
