Disney Club Penguin (迪斯尼企鵝俱樂部) Review
My children have been playing on this website before Disney bought it and my kids love it even more than ever now. It has become much more commercial because now they can hook up their nintendo DS clubpenguin game to their online game, but it keeps them busy for hours. The games are very social and some are very educational (the karate card game). We drove from SF to LA with our wifi on the laptop and the kids were happy the entire trip playing club penguin. For seven dollars a month, that is priceless.
Date of experience: July 14, 2009My kids love this website and they recently got me to play as well. I can tell you that it is completely safe for children as it is impossible for them to accidentally give away any personal information. There is a monthly fee of 7 dollars per account and if you have more than one child, they will both want their own account. You can let your kids play for free, but I can pretty much guarantee you that at some point they will be begging you to become a member. Club Penguin is smart in that unless you pay them 7 dollars a month you cannot get all of the "cool" virtual items like a big igloo.
Date of experience: July 14, 2009Don't bother! Once they have your billing information you cant get away from them! I have called several times to get my kids account cancel and they're still charging me! Two years later I am still dealing with trying to stop the charges.
Date of experience: July 6, 2015I love this website. It does have a little bit of a loading problem, but that's only because every one is on it! You get to dress up your penguin and everything! You also get to SEE your friends- unlike webkinz.
Date of experience: June 18, 2009Disney, why you gotta do us like this? The original Club Penguin was a G, then you release this?! You can't even finish the tutorial without having a membership, the only thing you can do is walk around and talk. I was banned from the server (for 24 hrs) for saying "Not my club penguin". Seriously? This game's graphics are terrible, and Disney only wants the money out of the game.
Date of experience: March 31, 2017It banned my child who has never done anything bad before. She was very upset and cried uncontrollably. I watch her whenever she is online and she has never said anything that would deserve a ban or report. If you aren't a member don't even both getting an account. Mostly everything is members only. I would not suggest letting your child play on Club Penguin.
Date of experience: March 15, 2017Before I start, let me give you a small brief history of Club Penguin, when it came out in 2005, it was a good website, it was managed by its own company and allowed you to roam around an island as a penguin, however to obtain extra perks like specific clothes for your penguin and ore furniture for your igloo (your penguin's virtual home) you would need to buy a membership, but technically the site was free. In 2007, Disney Co. Took over Club Penguin, they took complete control over the game and thats when club penguin went downhill... disney wanted more money so they upgraded club penguin about 7 times and gave club penguin new AMAZING features, however these features are available only to members. Disney released club penguin TOYS, buying one allows a non member to purchase about 3 member items for free. To make a long story short, you can't really do much without a membership all you can do is talk to people and walk around. It isnt fun.
Rating: 4.0/10
Date of experience: January 16, 2011Great game, I absolutely love new Club Penguin but, after I had been playing the game for a while (bits and bolts mini game since I am really good at it) and then a sex app add pops up and closes my game? I am not blaming you, since this might be a glitch, but this game was made for children and sex adds that are 18+ should not be popping up after playing a mini game for a while. Please trouble shoot this, also maybe add some more mini games, but overall a good game and is always fun to play.
Tip for consumers:no tips that I can give

Date of experience: July 15, 2022I've had my account since 2006, and when I recently bought a membership last year, I realised just how boring it was even with membership. I ended up leaving half way through my membership to play something else. Once your membership expires, you can't use your items... kind of like fantage when you think. At least with moshi monsters, you get to keep the items you bought.
Date of experience: October 20, 2013I know people are saying because Disney owns this site it is too commercial, but I like that Disney owns it as it makes me feel safe. I showed my kids this site about a month ago and then started paying the monthly fees. Now, I am forced to keep paying the monthly fees or my kids cannot access their "special rewards" and they might lose all of the money they made in the game. Seems a little bit like extortion to me, however the kids are endlessly entertained by this website and I would probably pay 10x as much to have them happy and in their rooms being occupied :) My 2 cent warning is, do not let them know they can go to the local Disney Store and actually buy real life clubpenguin toys unless you want to clutter your house with an endless sea of Puffles.
Date of experience: July 15, 2009Club Penguin is a safe site, but it is a little annoying. A membership is a good thing you can decorate your igloo, dress your penguin and play more games, but many people are banned even if they don't do anything.
Date of experience: June 16, 2011Worse service ever! I paid only for a month, and they kept charging my card even my son never used it. When I contacted them, they said that they cannot re-inverse my money even they saw that nobody used it. Scam and disappointment!
Date of experience: July 22, 2014Joined only to find out that pretty much everything requires you to have a membership.
You can't even complete the tutorial without a membership.
The amount of word sensory on there is absolutely ridiculous, they censor words that aren't even inappropriate.
I joined and played for 30 minutes and I am never returning.
I honestly can't believe Disney shut down ToonTown for this pathetic excuse for a game.
Date of experience: September 15, 2017While this is my son's favorite website and a membership to this site was one of his birthday presents, I do wonder if they couldn't just give memberships away and instead just make money off of all of the club penguin toys they sell. The other present my son got for his birthday was a "club penguin" pet called a puffle. This is all he wanted; a puffle and a membership to clubpenguin. I will not pretend to understand his fascination with this website, but I do not that kids generally lose interest of any given toy after about a week, but this site has kept his interest for 3 months now, so they are doing something right.
Date of experience: July 22, 2009I bought membership and that was one of the biggest mistakes I made. You couldn't use the items you bought while you had the membership and the game just tells you the most obvious thing like "click this door to go to blah blah blah!". I understand this is for extremely young children but I'm pretty sure they could learn by theirselves... Most of the games are copied. I got my membership instantly though...

Date of experience: May 31, 2015I love club penguin now but really, disney came and took it over. You can still play alot but it advertise's member this member that and now they put up a club penguin island

Date of experience: March 31, 2017Wonderful kids site (and adults) - <img title="Smile" src="/javascript/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-smile. Gif" border="0" alt="Smile" />This site is really great for the kids.
Games to play and their very own customized penguin!
I definitely give this site a thumbs up for kids.
The colours on it are nice and bright and gives it a happy look.
Date of experience: March 7, 2009Had to make a new account cause my friend has like 10 accounts on Club Penguin New but couldn't remember the name. I then created my penguin but couldn't distinguish a watermelon from a piece of cheese and then had to create my penguin all over again.
Then when I created my password, and asked it to save it for me, I had to type it out every time. I wanted to speak to my natives but was denied access due to overpopulation. I then tried to immigrate to Portugal but they kept asking for my password and wouldn't let me in. The Spanish, unlike the Portuguese, were much more assertive in denying me access to their grounds.
In conclusion, 1 star. I will be surfing elsewhere. I'm going to go climb walls instead.
Date of experience: April 13, 2022Its always about clothes and cool things with the STUPID MEMBERSHIP. I think club penguin should be a website game without the membership so everyone can have fun equally without playing because I think its not fair for kids.
Date of experience: June 14, 2016OMG this game is the biggest scam ever you literally can't do anything unless you have member ship i dont have member ship and I have like 50,500 coins that I cant do anything with and there is so many people who say bad words are mean and are innapropriate
Tip for consumers:Don't use it!!!!! Waste of time and money
Date of experience: September 4, 2014My niece loves this online game so for Christmas we got her a stuffed animal club penguin and she is in heaven. I played this game this morning and it is addictive even for adults :)
Date of experience: December 25, 2009Um excuse me I've been trying to log onto this crap website for days its not letting me, its not sending me emails and i would love it if you would let me get a free membership cause of this delay, if you don't give it to me i will sue you and i will take you and your crap puffles down, i will take your website and throw it in the toilet, i will come down to HQ and speak to you personally about how your website sucks thanks a lot i guess I'm gonna sue.
Date of experience: March 5, 2016The game is fun until you are constantly asked to buy something. There isnt much you can do for free to an extent. Honestly, play if you have the time and money!
Date of experience: August 20, 2011It looks like it is a closed game ripoff of Monkey Quest because it is 3Dish and is crappy at the same time. The adventures looks too simple as it shares SOOO many aspects to Club Penguin Island. Remember do not go into this APP as it ruins the childhood of it.
Stay safe,
Johnymous
Date of experience: June 26, 2017Well, it's another one of those chat-sites. But this time, you're a cute little penguin who waddles all over an island called Club Penguin.
I'll start off by saying the games are really fun. There are a whole lot of games to choose from. There are games where you make pizza, games where you unload trucks, and games where you make smoothies. The higher you score, the more coins you will win. With coins, well, I'll get back to that later. Anyways, I'm sure you'll find a game you love!
Back to coins. Well, if you don't pay for a "membership," coins are virtually useless. If you do pay for one, you can buy clothes and other stuff like that. You pretty much can't do anything cool without a membership, to tell you the truth.
The other "penguins" are normally ten year olds. Most are bratty and rude. Even more have virtual "boyfriends" and "girlfriends." Is this the type of thing you want to encourage your kids to do? Date virtual "penguins?"
In conclusion, the site is mostly bad. The only truly fun things are the games.
