We put in our stove on 10/8/24 two weeks before thanksgiving the upper oven quit working I called the warranty number was told give them 8 days to find repairman they back to say none in our area. Find one and pay for it up to $200 and they will reimburse me. It cost $100 for diagnosing the problem. I paid it and told them I wouldn't pay for the repairs as it is $500. It is 12/23/24 I still don't have the problem fixed I called and begged for this to be resolved before Christmas they were going to deliver a new stove 12/24/24 then I get a new email they will deliver the replacement 1/7/25. Not impressed that I have not had this resolved and it took 6 weeks to get reimbursed for the repairs I paid for on an appliance less than 3 months old.
Date of experience: November 11, 2024Can't use a virtually pristine oven that had the control board fail with error F1E1 which is a software checksum error. They want me to schedule a technician and have me pay for that and a replacement. The glass top of this appliance is easily scratched; we have determined this $1,400 oven will not be repaired, as overall the quality of KitchenAid and their support service is poor.
Self clean option has never been used and oven is in excellent shape as it remained unused through the warranty period.
Tip for consumers:Support experience was subpar. Asked me the same questions, and gave me the same instructions multiple times.

Date of experience: October 30, 2024Please save your $$ don't waste it on any new kitchen aid products. Worst customer service, every appliance since 2020 has broken at 2 year mark… warranty is only 1 year. Repairs cost $700 or more!
They offer you a 20% discount on purchasing a new product. Like someone would want any of their products after this experience.
5 appliances since 2020 all but 1 needed repairs within 2–3 years. Not wear and tear issues. Water lines being misaligned, chips malfunctioning etc.

Date of experience: July 10, 2024Recently purchased a 6 qt bowl from Kitchenaid / Whirlpool, but unfortunately, I received a 5 qt bowl in the box. I immediately contacted their customer service via email, explaining the situation. To my surprise, I was directed to the warranty department, even though this was clearly a packaging error on their end.
The warranty department responded, instructing me to call for further assistance. After spending time on the phone, I found the experience frustrating and unhelpful. All the information I provided in my initial email seemed to be disregarded.
This kind of service is unacceptable. A packaging mistake should be a straightforward issue to resolve, but the runaround and lack of clear communication have left me extremely dissatisfied.
I had high hopes for a quick resolution, but unfortunately, my experience with Kitchenaid / Whirlpool has been far from satisfactory. I cannot recommend them based on this frustrating incident.

Date of experience: November 28, 2023I bought a mini kitchenaid. Did not even open it since my daughter had the artisan model and the bow kept throwing around. It took 2 men holding it down and we still couldn't whip the dough. I returned mine in the original box unopened. It took them over a week to email me a label. I took it to FedEx, called 10 days later since I still don't have the refund. The rep acknowledged it's been received, FedEx tracking said it was delivered. I had to dispute my charge with my credit card. Return date 1/13/24. Today is 2/6/24, almost a month later. I've never dealt with such slow and poor service from any retailers. So disappointing with all the work that goes into returning to Kitchenaid.

Date of experience: February 6, 2024I spent $1,200 on a dishwasher and it was delivered broken. Not broken on or by delivery, but internal parts that were literally broken inside the unit. Home Depot is worthless also. They told me to call KitchenAid. KitchenAid said they would send the parts. It has been a month and still no parts. I cannot use this expensive hunk of junk. I called their customer "service" and demanded the part be overnighted. They simply said no and gave me an estimated waiting time of 12 to 14 MORE days. I have wasted my money. I am now going to return it. KitchenAid does not deserve my money, or anyone's money. DO NOT BUY KitchenAid!
Tip for consumers:Their CS person was polite but useless and simply would not help me or go out of their way to get me the parts I need to make this useless thing work.
Products used:Dishwasher is useless. I cannot use it and am not 30 days out with nothing to show for a LOT of money.

Date of experience: September 28, 2023We have a 2 yr old KitchenAid 20.9 Cu. Ft. 36" Width Built-In Stainless Bottom Mount Refrigerator ($8k). Several of the interior lights went out. After fixing the lights (out of warranty) they went out 30 days later. Don't think a simple thing like interior LED lights should expire within 24 months and then again in 30 days. Would not recommend.

Their phone customer service I dismal at best. Do not buy directly from this company as they have a subpar operations system in place for commerce.

Date of experience: February 5, 2024One of the worst products I have ever bought. I called to have it serviced, paid a 100.00 fee to have a service technician come and service my stove. I complained the temperature of both ovens was off about 25 degrees, which it still is. He tested and said thermostat was bad. I owned the oven for about one year. Bought a new thermostat and still the oven is temperature is incorrect. 25 degrees. They never followed up and I will not purchase this product again. I do not want to babysit my oven it pretty much sucks.

Date of experience: March 1, 2024KitchenAid appliances look nice, but...a few years ago, I upgraded my kitchen, including all new KitchenAid appliances (at the suggestion of our designer who, I think, was impressed with their looks). Some I insured with an extra warranty, others (the microwave and dishwasher) I was told "don't break", so not to wast money on the added insurance. WRONG - and a nightmare.
Multiple service calls on our oven, including being told by the repairmen to not use the broiler on the top oven and to never use the self-cleaning control as the oven could not handle the heat. So many calls on the refrigerator, that they actually replaced it. Two very expensive calls on the dishwasher, and now the microwave just died.
There has to be a better alternative!

Our last dishwasher lasted 20+ years, we got a new dishwasher to go with a new refrigerator and stove. 14 months later, 2 months past the 1 year warranty, we're facing a $110 house call not including any labor or parts to fix it. BUYERS REMORSE and from what I read and from my own experience, a company that doesn't care or support their products or are worried about repeat customers.

We bought a microwave from lions last year and since we bought it light and fan doesn't work. We went to lions and they said it's not there problem and we have to call kitchenaid directly.we called few times until They sent someone to fix it. Twice someone came and every time they told us different story. One time they needed a different part because they ordered wrong one and second time which it took them almost 5 months to come back they said problem is something else and they have to come back because they don't have the right part. We paid almost $700 for this garbage and even customer service doesn't want to listen to us. Horrible experience. Every time I Cooke I have to open all the windows and deal with fire alarm. I will tell all my friends and family that not to buy this garbage brand. Stupid company

Date of experience: January 3, 2023We thought this 4 k refrigerator was quality but Kitchenaid does not stand behind their product. They replaced the doors and they are still crooked. The freezer door is crooked and constantly get ice on our food. We paid for an extended service contract and got nothing from buying it. The store says they will do something and then they ghost us.

This is a factory/warrenty repair if you are in the US but Canadians are on their own to find a service center to do the job; something I have not been able to do after much searching.

Date of experience: December 22, 2023We bought a kitchen aid dishwasher 2 years ago and literally the entire top rack has fallen apart. We have bought replacement parts several times and those broke in the same spots. We contacted kitchenaid about the problem and were told we would have to repair on our own. There is no way in 2 years a dishwasher should fall apart like this. I have never seen anything like this before. Why there is not a recall on these is beyond me. We've had to zip tie the top shelf just to get it to stay on till we can replace with a different brand completely. Never again will I buy a kitchenaid product.
Date of experience: December 23, 2022We bought a top of the line KitchenAid range in March of 2020. The cast grates on the stove top have broke several times. Kitchen replaced the first 4 (2 burners x 2) and assured us, while it was under warranty, that they would continue to cover this issue. Here we are, less than 3 years old and another one has broken. KitchenAid is refusing to honor their warranty and say this is not a known issue and that there are no recalls for this item. A quick google search tells us that, this is indeed, a known issue. Everyone seems to being getting the same lousy service from KitchenAid, so I guess you could say they are consistent. This was a top of the line range, commercial style that was over $4000 and they seem to think that us replacing the grates every year is acceptable.

Date of experience: February 2, 2023Don't waste your money buying the 5 door refrigerator from kitchenaid. We had nothing but issues from day one. The tech came twice in two years to fix the ice maker and freezer and after 4 years it's completely dead. This is our second 5 doors model and nothing but disaster. They customer service is so poor.

The water and I stopped working in February 2023 just a few short months after we installed the new one it is now March 13,2023 and still is not fixed after three visits from the repair man and the warranty people tell me their hands are tied, terrible terrible products terrible customer warranty even there people know how terrible they are!

It has been delayed twice since then. Today I was notified that it was in and delivery was set up for February 22,2022.
When the charge hit my credit card, I got an email from my credit card company that the item was on sale.
$85.00 less than I was charged, I called and they told me they could not help me. I could however cancel the order and reorder it if I wanted to.

Pretty sizable spots that are kinda tucked under the counter where they are not as easy to see. KitchenAid won't do whatever it is that they need to do to fix it. NO WAY THAT I'LL EVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN
Tip for consumers:Mechanically it seems to work fine, but rust on the door in 3 months is BS. Spoke with KitchenAid and they won't take care of 'cosmetic issues' outside of 30 days from purchase

I especially love my DW and WM as they are the old-school mechanical types as opposed to electronic... therefore easy to use and easy to repair. My most recent acquisition was the microwave... and it is a sleek stainless steel model that looks and behaves quite stylishly in my kitchen. I strongly recommend that KM keeps a few mechanical type appliances in their line, as not all of us are into the digital and electronic age. Five glorious stars for you, KitchenAid!
