You may as well take your money and light a match to it! No pun intended. Horrible customer service. Do not explain anything to you, such as why you are being blocked/banned ( which I have read many people saying the same on these reviews!) I would recommend no one to sign up with this abomination of a website/service. Rude, incompetent, and horrendous customer service - they are just there to grab your money as most of these sites are! Tip for consumers:none Service Value Quality Date of experience: January 17, 2025
My verdict after 6 months of using Match is: it's a total and outrageous scam. Bots and fakes and scammers - their task is to make you pay. TTheir women are not real, you can't see them and if you reach otu to them on social media they only ask you for gifts or money. They aren't actually pursuing a real relationship. Match is a con company: you get instant likes and messages, but you can't see who writes you (most likely it's a bot, using hot photos of porn stars to seduce you) and they write you a misleading one-line nonsense. I'll tell you the top 3 worst. One wanted to sell crypto and download another app to FaceTime, the other wanted to text bomb everyday a lot of bull and the 3rd OMG! He literal told me he passed my photo and I should put another one up because it's not eye catching. I told him I don't won't to catch the wrong attention! He still kept going on about it. All he wanted was to sleep with me! I'm not paying to meet a lot of losers, I can meet them for free. I might need therapy after haha. I blocked the last one and ran! Tip for consumers:Not worth the time, investment or energy! If that’s the option, I’ll stay single Service Value Quality Date of experience: January 17, 2025
First off, they say you have 41 Lakes then when you go to look, you have to pay to see them for all, you know you could be looking at pictures of a 59 Chevy or the wreck of the Hesperus another rip off and besides all the women I seen when you browse Wallet built like a little boys they're all twigs under 100 pounds of built like a little boys nothing woman like about the middle wall with divorce soccer moms Tip for consumers:A scam like all dating sites Service Value Quality Date of experience: January 28, 2025
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money. Horrible Experience with Match.com – Beware of Unjust Terminations and Zero Customer Service! I would give Match.com zero stars if I could. I signed up for a paid membership, and within ONE WEEK, my account was abruptly terminated without any explanation whatsoever. No warnings, no no explanation—just suddenly locked out of my account. And to make matters worse, they charged me for the full subscription, but I can't even access my account to cancel it or request a refund! It's impossible to reach anyone on the phone. I've tried contacting customer service multiple times, and it's like talking to a brick wall. They just take your money and disappear. How can a company that claims to care about its members treat paying customers like this? Stay far away from Match.com unless you want to throw your money down the drain for absolutely nothing in return! Totally unprofessional and deceptive business practices. Save yourself the frustration and find another dating site that actually values its users. Date of experience: October 7, 2024
Match.com used to be a pretty good site. But they are ridiculous now. I recently received 5 emails from 5 different people at Match. All in response to a question I had posed on Match.com They all responded and NO ONE helped. What a joke! All they care about is money. It's such a scam! Recently they decided if you want to see more than 6 people on the search page you have to now pay to see the full list. It wasn't like that earlier this year. It wouldn't be so bad but their lowest price is $50 US and since I live in Canada it's about 60$, you're joking right? I have to pay 60$ just to see the entire list I was able to see earlier this year for free? It used to be a good dating site but now it's just garbage, at least every other site/app I tried they don't say "Oh you want to see the entire list? You have to pay" Date of experience: September 7, 2024
Yet another dating site that scams its clients. I signed up and paid for a month at the Platinum level. $59.99. Completed my profile, posted photos and did everything I was supposed to do. Didn't get a SINGLE reply. Messaged A lot of women, was always respectful and decent in my messages. Not a single reply. Match would tell me "someone likes you!" or "someone looked at your profile!" or something like that. I would message that person and would hear nothing back. So I started getting suspicious and messaged a few women that supposedly looked at my profile and asked them if they did. They all said they did not! I canceled my membership after that. So, same as Ashley Madison, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR EFFORT! Date of experience: August 27, 2024
Match gets you to subscribe by sending emails that you have several messages & likes - When you subscribe, however, you get the message that the site is having technical difficulties or you get a page where the members are all blurred over - I was naive Enough to contact their customer service chat, which would have been funny, had it not been so frustrating & insulting! I have a brand new, up to date iPad, so the issue is not On my end! NO REFUNDS, even though I subscribed 4 hrs. Ago - They're shameless - Tip for consumers:It’s just very disappointing & frustrating, when what you think is a reputable company so grossly disappoints - Service Value Quality Date of experience: August 24, 2024
March.com charged my credit card with their subscription without my concent. I had canceled the subscription back in June. And now is August. Do not use match.com do not give them your credit card number. There nothing good there only scammers and match. Com is the biggest of them Service Value Quality Date of experience: August 17, 2024
No sense in previewing. Profiles blocked (hidden) leaves little to no encouragment to join as a memeber. Blocked pics. Service Value Quality Date of experience: October 3, 2024
I paid 149$ for a membership. When I first accessed the account I saw they used a wealthy physician's account to scam little old ladies with fake likes. Some attractive members are only shown in the highlights and not in search so that you have to pay an additional 3$ a piece to contact them. Hiding those from routine searches is screwing them too. Like other sites - match never deletes old inactive accounts - esp of very nice looking people. They use those profiles to entice and get you to sign up - then you find out those people are not members any more, nor haven't been for a long time. - then- systematically - your acct develops an issue - not a real issue but freezes - your only option for help - online. And wait for days. And then they erase or mangle your info - you lose all your messages - your plans get cancelled - and there is no credit issued - for a problem they cannot detail. SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME. These days it's a challenge to find normal people - add in the site working against you.? BUT - THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY SO EASILY. THEN NO ONE HOME. IT'S TIME FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT - TO TEACH THEM A LESSON.. Tip for consumers:if anyone wants to join a class action suit - and put these clowns where they belong - reach out Service Value Quality Date of experience: August 8, 2024
I forgot my password. I've been trying to reset the password and contacted the help line. I get a message after putting in email and it doesn't proceed to the next step. This site is not official. I didn't pay but regretfully have pics that I want to delete to keep from being used by others. Not a viable site. Service Value Date of experience: June 30, 2024
Any tricks or hacks to get faster help from Match customer service like maybe actually talk to someone?! I paid the most expensive subscription and can't use any of the services by not being able to get past the phone and account verification screen. I put in several "customer care" trouble forms then waited days to get a response or have to verify myself by answering 5 questions then waited days for a response of it having to be sent to another department so now am guessing I will have to wait for no telling how many days again. Dang! I tried many phone numbers found online and no luck. A chat feature on Facebook didn't work either. Date of experience: June 14, 2024
I am okay with Match, or any other dating app charging a fee to access advanced features to improve the user experience. What I object to is that the basic paid subscription does not offer any useful features versus an unpaid subscription. Besides selecting gender, age range and search radius, you get nothing else. This renders the app pretty useless since one wastes their time sorting through profiles that are of no interest to the user. Instead, Match wants you to sign up for the premier subscription to get access to helpful search criteria like use interests, education, preferences as far as smoking, drinking, etc. Just a money grab. Better off to use the unpaid subscription or better yet, choose a different dating app. Tip for consumers:Tried to get a refund through Apple, but they would not provide one. I used Match before lockdown for a few months and again in 2024. Customer service not only provides no help to customers to solve their problems, but also uses judgmental attitude to blame customers without providing legit reasons due to their "privacy policy". Definitely avoid this website. Service Value Quality Date of experience: May 25, 2024
Too many scammers here with fake profiles. Especially there was an expert matched me with an ugly old man! With all conflicting interests! And then they asked me if I wanted to pay extra for the expert service! Wasted my time and money here! Do not recommend this app to anyone! I've been dating from the Internet for about 20 years. I've had really lovely relationships and met some wonderful women. As of May 2023, I'm using multiple sites. Match is an antique. The actual connection rate is abysmal. This fossil denies spontaneity. Post a new picture? Wait days for "approval." Edit your profile? Same delay. Once you're on it, it's pimping you constantly for upgrades. I would avoid this site entirely. Once you disconnect they start sending you notice about all the wonderful people you're missing that "liked you." I fell for that, and it was totally disappointing. I think you could do better with Bumble, Tinder and even Facebook dating Tip for consumers:That it’s cumbersome and awkward, denies spontaneity, and the connection rate stinks. A waste of money for somebody who is serious about connecting with genuine real people. Value Quality Date of experience: May 14, 2023
I've had success with this site in the past. I've recent renewed my membership and continue to be impressed. I would highly recommend this. And also urge you to stay clear of fake sites such as Ashley Madison and Pure and Elite Singles. Tip for consumers:Be patient. Be honest. Use update pics or you’ll be wasting your time and your date’s. Products used:Multiple month membership and so far not disappointed. Highly recommend. I'm a fairly attractive 56-year-old woman who looks a good bit younger. I've messaged back and forth with about 10 guys, every last one of whom has turned out to be a scammer. In most cases, they initiated the messaging, but in some cases I did. I'm giving Match.com two stars because it might work for younger people, but people my age tend to have more money and are therefore good targets. Be very wary of anyone who calls you "my dear", doesn't ask you many questions besides "what do you love to do", asks you the same question twice, or plays on your compassion and tells you about some big bill they have to pay such as for their mother's hospital treatment. One scammer actually sent me the exact same paragraph twice, three days apart. They clearly had a bunch of messages ready to cut and paste. The whole experience has been expensive and extremely disheartening. Date of experience: March 22, 2022
Found little on this to make me believe that there are many genuine people on here. Signed up and was bombarded by what looked like fake profiles. I have had a few friends who say they've managed to get a few hook ups from it, however not convinced. Date of experience: April 10, 2014
Being a girl on an online dating site can be tough. There are so many guys who are either there for the wrong reasons or are just so awkward that it's painful. Match.com isn't really any better than any other dating site. BUT, it has more people so my chances of finding someone normal are just a teeny tiny bit better. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Match is my only hope... Date of experience: August 18, 2009
I am not too sure why some people hate this site so much, it does exactly what it says it will do... allow you to meet people you otherwise never would have met. Thousands of people have met their spouse on match.com and the cost is so minimal compared to what people spend on dating, both men and women. Yes they have recurring charges but big deal, just cancel when you meet someone. I have never heard of someone saying, gee I wish I didn't spend that 20 bucks a month to meet my husband.
