    Scam scam scam! Don't even think of booking with this site. They sold me a "standard individual room" and after paying it was a shared room! When i contacted the help center they opened an internal investigation to check if it was their mistake. 1 week later they answered me telling it was their mistake. But I had to pay the difference in the hotel and they would refund me later. When I asked how they were going to refund me, they never asked. Three times I asked. Each answer took 4 or 5 days. Embarrassing, an appalling service. And no customer service at all. Avoid this site because you won't have any help from them. Date of experience: October 11, 2019
    Otel.com is hosted by more reputable online booking sites like Trivago. Otel.com does NOT deal with the hotel directly, but uses yet another online agent/broker for their bookings. Booking took place on 01.02.2020 for 2020/05/21 - 2020/05/24. Two weeks before the commencement date (2020/05/21) hotel informed me that booking was cancelled. Still, automated vouchers kept arriving via e-mail, pretending all is in order. When querying with Otel.com, no communication was received, not even an acknowledgement of receipt of such. Ticket was logged on their site with request for refund, no reply as yet. Neither hotel nor intermediate broker/agent received funds, but intermediate denies information who cancelled. The fact remains that they were unable to deliver a service for a booking that we did not cancel. Otel.com is still sitting with my money and doing nothing. Stays away from Otel.com.     Avoid these as a plague, I've made an attempt to book a hotel stay with them, the booking did not go through for whatever reason but my card was charged, I have contacted them several times and received different contradictory messages, rang them which costed me a 15 pounds bill for 5 minutes conversation, they reassured me that they have not charged me on their side and the payment is pending but took the money anyway and later denied and insisted that they've not charged my card! It took me days and long conversations with my bank to recover the money! Scammers, unacceptable and hope that your scam company will disappear not to be seen or heard forever!     Otel is a scam. Do not use them. I cancelled my hotel reservation well before the cancellation deadline. I received a confirmation email saying the refund would take 10-14 days. I waited. No refund. I emailed them. It took about 3 weeks to get a response. That response claimed technical problems and it would take another ten days. I have gone to my credit card company for a refund. I still do not have a refund. I cannot understand why they appear on any referral web site. Date of experience: July 23, 2019
    I booked a room for a hotel in Italy thru Otel.com and it ended up being booked for a month too early. One of the biggest reasons for this was that their site fails to confirm your info just before you book and pay. Every other site I booked thru has a pop up at the end of the booking sequence showing you all the details of your booking-dates, room request, hotel etc except for this one. Once I hit pay the details came up and I immediately realized it was booked for the wrong date. All my attempts to get it changed thru customer service-now that's a joke- and live chat etc fell on deaf ears. It was booked months ahead of time. Beware it the worst booking site I used for the trip and customer service is non-existent. My attempt to reverse it thru my credit card company failed. I will never use Otel.com again.     I booked a room for a family reunion in laughlin nv only to find out they cancelled it for payment error but room my money tried contacting them about only to be charged international call with was 105 dollars... do not use this website to book your reservation its a complete SCAM... you'll be left with out a room!     We were supposed to go to London but due to corona the borders were closed so we didn't. We've been writing them emails and all calling to automated message that told us to cancel the booking to get a refund. When we did so they've send us an email after around 2 months that their hotel supplier cancelled the refund and we won't have no money back. We've been writing them non stop again and it's just not possible to reach them. It's a biggest scam we don't know what to do please avoid them Date of experience: June 22, 2020
    I paid $2300 for a room at a Florida hotel just before COVID hit last year. I had to cancel the reservation. The hotel confirmed that Otel.com was refunded what it paid from my funds but Otel refused to return any payment to me. The phone number on its site did not connect to its location in Ankara Turkey or went to an unrelated entity. Attempts to communicate by other means were totally ineffective.     I was charged twice by Otel.com for a single booking. I've attempted to contact them by every option available on their website. I've been blocked from calling their support number (wow, that's great customer support), their live chat is only intermittently available (and when it was, I was directed to put in a ticket "since that wasn't an issue they could help with"), and no one has responded to my support request that I put in 3 days ago. Overall, I would be surprised to find out that this site is anything other than a poorly run scam. If I could give a rating less than one star, I would. Date of experience: April 4, 2019
    YES! It is! We booked and paid for hotel in Greece in January and when we arrived at the hotel last week, they said Otel.com had cancelled our booking with them and showed us proof of that. AND we received no less than 3 reminders from Otel.com in the week leading up to the booking! Needles to say we had to pay the hotel directly as well.     Just received an email saying that they were cancelling my booking due to Coronavirus. The hotel is still open and taking bookings but for more than we paid Otel.com six months ago. They have had our money and now they cannot get the hotel for the price we paid have made up an excuse. Waited thirty minutes for customer services and they then cut me off.     Took my money and sent me a voucher. When I got to the hotel, there was no reservation. I was the second customer of otel.com turned away that day by the hotel, which had no available rooms and confirmed that Otel.com never attempted to book a room. otel.com told me they booked me at an alternative (inferior) motel for the same price, 3 hours away from where I was. I told them to screw off and refund my money. They haven't refunded my money and I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission.     Do not use! Book directly with hotel is possible. No refund was issued despite being in the middle of a pandemic which is why we did not travel. No credit or refund was granted.     STAY AWAY! What a rip-off company! Was searching their site with the filter to allow pets... booked a property and called the hotel direct to reconfirm pets allowed and told NO. Immediately (5 minutes) tried their customer service number which did not operate so used their live chat feature and explained the error and asked for a refund. Was told NO. By the way, the confirmation form says under Cancellation Policies in BOLD: Free Cancellation - 2 Days Remaining. In fine print below it says "this product is non-refundable at this time" I now have lost my $368 needed for a room to escape the hurricane approaching.     I booked the Coco Key hotel in Florida at Dec. 27 2018, but when I check in and they said the booking was cancelled by Otel.com, I stay outside without hotel room with my family for few hours and didn't got fixed, they didn't help us book another hotel and didn't refund to me yet, I must book another hotel and paid the full price by myself. I waste another $200 to called Otel.com customer service because they just put me on hold, They are in Turkey, it charged international call, very bad service.     Booked a reservation in May and cancelled within the outlined timeframe for "free cancellation". Otel.com sent a credit voucher and refuses to refund my money. There is no way to contact them and no one responds to emails. Date of experience: September 27, 2020
    WARNING: Do not do business with these scammers! My wife and I booked a hotel through Otel.com. When the pandemic resulted in border closures, we were forced to contact Otel.com about receiving a refund for our trip. Several weeks later, we finally received an email from MetGlobal (parent company) informing us that the hotel would issue a refund and therefore, we would not be refunded by Otel.com. We contacted the hotel directly and they advised us that 100% of all bookings had been cancelled and refunded in full to all third party booking companies. We were also told that a booking was never made by Otel.com and that the voucher number they provided to us was invalid. After this was stated to Otel.com, they hung up the phone and will not return emails. Our credit card was charged in full by Otel.com. We are currently pursuing legal means to be refunded.     Fraud! Tried to book a hotel for Vegas through Otel.com. Once I selected the law rate and entered all of my information and credit card information it redirected me back to the start with almost double the cost of the same room! I clicked to speak to a customer service representative. I received Tolga out of Istanbul, Turkey. Tolga was absolutely the WORST customer service representative I have ever dealt with. They said there was no manager, 1-800 phone number and if I called Turkey in the morning to speak with a manager Tolga said he would be answering my call.     I booked with Otel.com and then called the hotel after only receiving a "voucher". The hotel has absolutely no information about me or my reservation. When I talked to someone on live chat the they told me I would need to submit a request. I am extremely nervous I will go and not have a room. Will never use Orel again...     They stole more than £1500 from me. During the pandemic, unable to travel to London, I was forced to cancel my booking. They never replied to any message, never answered the phone.     This company is very unscrupulous. I booked a room for 5 nights, for an event that was subsequently cancelled due to COVID-19. I called the hotel to find out if they were open, because a lot of hotels were closed. They said that all of the reservations had been refunded, but that my reservation had been cancelled by Agoda.com, which is an agent of Otel.com. The hotel said they had not received any money for my reservation. I had never requested cancellation, nor had I ever heard of Agoda. I sent several messages to Otel and they said that their booking agent would have to approve a refund. They didn't tell me who that was, but since I already knew, I sent Agoda a message. So far, nothing has been done and I haven't received any more communication.     A scam operation. It appears the they make their money by keeping what you pay and not passing it on to the hotel. I cancelled a reservation a week ago which the hotel says is fully refundable, but they had not received payment. These guys are trying to hang onto the money and not pass it on to the hotel. My bad for not reading all the other bad reviews. When I told them I would post bad reviews if they didn't notify the hotel of the cancellation they said they had passed my money on to the "hotel supplier" but they refused to tell me who that might be.
