A little pricey when I'm unsure if I'll even use the caregivers. As I am super nervous leave my infant and older child with anyone other then family. But I'm out of options at this point with ageing parents and siblings who wont help.
Super easy to set up a job posting, but also search and message on my own! So far so good!
Challenging at first but starts to make sense if you answer enough questions to see providers. Most say not booking so I will keep looking or reach out to some because it is not clear since all were active within last 24 hours. Seems like a great potential for finding help for caregivers for my Dad.
Care.com has a completely predatory billing system. I signed up with them and unwittingly paid for 12 months of services I did not use. Companies with similar subscription models often will rebate unused time, when they can see a profile is not used or an ad is not placed. Instead I got a totally uncaring email from care.com saying we say we are a subscription too bad so sad. You simply don't care, and your customer service response is disappointing. $600 down the drain. Service Value Shipping Returns
Horrible! Pay for a month... start messaging potential candidates and then get blocked for no reason. Issue isn't resolved till 2 weeks later and then I go back into my account and can't even access anything i could before despite having 1 or week left on my access... No refund, no extension of service and strange candidates that blocked me for no reason. No thanks! They stole my money. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
Be warned about this girl Katie (Katherine) Klein. She is one of the most selfish and evil people I've ever met in my life. And she is incredibly violent. The scary part is is that she's a nanny even though she hasn't had a nanny job in many years. If you're considering getting her as a nanny on care.com I strongly encourage you not to because she has a record of assaulting strangers in public, attacking me, attacking my friend and even attacking her mother. What's even scarier is that she's due to have a baby in two months. * Care.com attempted to help this customer through the Sitejabber Resolution Center, but the customer did not respond
Would be nice to know the listed providers had a background check/vetted previously and that attached to their profile.
I am in need of trying to get my home back together any quality help as soon as possible would be wonderful. Thanks so much for your help
I am unsure about some of the one time charge of $79 as opposed to having $20 mo
Too early in the process to give you 5 stars, but I like what I see so far.
I recently had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Care.com, and I feel compelled to share my negative encounter to warn others about their questionable business practices. First and foremost, Care.com appears to have predatory financial schemes masked behind their subscription services. I opted for a supposedly straightforward "ONE MONTH subscription" with the understanding that it would not automatically renew. However, to my dismay, the invoice revealed the fine print indicating an auto-renewal policy, a detail conveniently absent during the initial sign-up process. This lack of transparency raises concerns about the company's commitment to ethical business practices. Furthermore, the vetting process for their employers seems lax, leading to subpar services. The platform's poorly designed website exacerbated my already frustrating experience. It consistently crashed and, on occasions, locked me out of my account, rendering the subscription virtually unusable. Attempting to rectify the situation, I promptly reached out to their customer service when I noticed the unauthorized charge on my credit card mere hours after the auto-renewal. However, my plea for a refund was met with staunch refusal. The refusal, coupled with the deceptive auto-renewal tactic, leaves customers like myself stuck with an unwanted and unusable subscription, highlighting the company's greed and lack of customer-centric values. The overall impression is that Care.com engages in dishonest practices, attempting to take advantage of parents seeking extra help. This experience raises serious ethical concerns about the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and transparency. I strongly caution potential customers to exercise extreme caution when considering Care.com as my encounter has left me disillusioned and regretful of my decision to engage with their services. Too confusing on payments. Too expensive seeing as how it is JUST for access- MORE costly if someone wants more services! Charges should be refundable on a pro-rated basis if pay for year, or whichever time was selected, but no one ever fits criteria, doesn't work out, etc.
I don't understand why everyone has "registered nurse" under their name when they aren't a nurse. Also, I didn't see anything about the time frame I have to cancel so I don't get charged for another month if all the caregivers turn out to be schemers or duds.
Too pushy is terms of selling the premium plan. The basic one is useless. Also, the auto renew policy sounds aggressive and doesn't keep the customer's best interest in mind.
I appreciate the questions that help me determine my need and the actual sample job posting. It really made this easy!
This is a really easy, but we know the hard part is Cancelling Your Service. You don't make it easy and that frustrates me because I think that is trying to be sneaky with your customer by trying to earn an EXTRA month when they want the service to end. I have experience this with your Website in the past. I am back but I am reluctant because of the Cancelling Feature. Hopefully the cancelling, when it's time, goes better this time. Thank you Carmela
First time using, like the site, so far. Still finding my way in getting extra help. I am having trouble signing into site, it will not recognize my email.
I am so $#*!ing angry at this app. It used to be so simple and they changed it with the change I lost all my reviews and validations from people I've worked with for 10 years. It's way harder to navigate the app now and I get FALSE $#*!ING AD TEXTS with misinformation about the actual job listing. It's very frustrating and it's harder to find a job and communicate with people on it since they've changed the app. I'd give it a negative 5 stars. No help with customer service either. They've ruined the experience for me. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
"Care.com is a fraudulent platform with scammers. The other day, I decided to subscribe to their website because I was in need of a job. I intended to subscribe for only one month, but I mistakenly selected three months. I immediately contacted them to adjust the payment to one month instead. However, they blatantly refused and closed the chat on me. I realized that even after making a payment, they still block you from seeing some jobs, seemingly to encourage continued subscriptions. This is a scam. Don't ever make any payment on this website; they are fraudulent." Tip for consumers:Care.com is a fraudulent platform with scammers. I signed up for an hour. I tried to cancel because my niece called wanting to watch my son and they refuse to give me a refund. I paid $175 to sign up and no other services used. You can only find care if you sign up. They refused to give me a refund even though in the sign up it says you can cancel anytime. I will never use this service again and I hope other people stay away. There are way better options out there to find care. They will just steal your money.
I only need this for a conference in Detroit. It would be great to have a one time fee.
I already wrote an ad, then had to do it again after I joined with monthly premium. Very inconvenient. Will post more if and when I meet possible dog walkers.
Horrible platform and when you try to fix it you face another horrible customer service. I regret so much to pay premium because never works. They don't refund and they don't provide the service that you paid for. I wish I could sue them. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
I'm finding what i need to, but things keep defaulting to me looking for childcare, not a house cleaner
Only thing that's been frustrating as we just get started is that most caregivers (within our criteria) are listing "not available for booking at this time".
