Worst service I've ever received from a company, on a CONSISTENT basis… HORRIBLE… incredibly often, like today for instance… they forgot literally over HALF of our order… and when they're not doing that, they spend much of the time delivering it to the wrong house.
Date of experience: January 30, 2025I ordered food tonight for me and my children and they immediately took the last money from my debit account, then text messaged me 12 min later saying the order is canceled and my money would be refunded in 5 days. Now my children can't eat tonight and they will not give me any credit to be able to order food for my children. What horrible customer service and I would not recommend them to anyone

The picture shows on the orange Grubhub bag and nothing to indicate that it was at my house. I hate Grubhub but I get it free with Amazon. And, I LOATHE THIEVES! Merry Christmas, Jerk!

Date of experience: December 21, 2024I supposedly get GrubHub+ with Amazon. 80% of my orders never arrive and what does is cold. Do NOT use GrubHub. In the last week or so had a driver steal my Pizza. And then not deliver two other orders when I could not get out of the house due to illness. In my case my illness actually worsed due to lack of expected food intake.Thei AI help bot could not care.

Date of experience: December 5, 2024If you enjoy over-priced ice-cold food, use the Grubhub service! This evening, I had the pleasure of using a $40 gift card I was given from my work to order a dinner. We ordered three hamburgers from Red Robbin. The bill came to over $80! After watching the driver pick up my food at the restaurant, I then watched them make a stop at another restaurant. After picking up an order form there, they proceeded to drive clear across town (in the opposite direction) and drop that order off. I watched our dinner drive around for over 30 minutes. By the time the food finally got to our house it was ice cold. I asked that it be left on the bench by our front door. It was placed on the ground. Well, at least with the gift card it only cost me $40. Oh, wait. They charged the full amount to my credit card and did not use the gift card at all. So, I paid over $80 for 3 cold hamburgers. After chatting with support, I was told there was nothing that could do but offer me a $5 credit. Amazing. Use at your own risk.

Save your money and time, it is not a time saver when your food arrives cold, over priced and thats IF you actually get your order.

First, we cancelled our Grubhub+ a month ago due to pretty bad experiences with their partner restaurants and errors (every time) on our orders. Tonight, however, was the final straw. We gave them another try at full price. Our order was cancelled an hour and ten minutes after the order was picked up by the restaurant. It was cancelled AFTER the driver arrived at the restaurant and sat for 30 minutes. He then proceeded to deliver another order, RETURNED TO THE RESTAURANT, where he sat for another fifteen minutes. He then updated the delivery time which would have made our delivery 30 minutes late and then, suddenly, cancelled the order. The cancellation was not due to being out of a menu item. When that happens, the order is cancelled right away. That has happened to us before. We thought maybe it got so late that the restaurant had closed at that point. Nope. I called the restaurant, and they were still open and would be open for another three hours.
Date of experience: November 24, 2024FIRST OF ALL I AM A DISABLED PERSON. So I ordered Lunch at noon the delivered items were garbage. So I ordered 4 items from Istanbul Kebab Restaurant. 2 shawarme sandwiches, which were ok, 1 kelle tandir which was also ok. And 1 egg plant kebab which was NOT DELIVERED. I called the restaurant and they appologized and told me they were out of it an they will contact Grub Hub to refund the $23.00. I called Grubhub and they told me they refunded the garbage I received noon time because of my complaint, but they can not refund this UNSENT item even if it is not delivered. IS THIS THE WAY THEY PUNISH A CUSTOMER FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT A BAD FOOD DELIVERED, WENT TO GARGAGE WITOUT BEING CONSUMED AND PAY FOR AN ITEM WHICH IS NOT DELIVERED EVEN WITHOUT TALKING TO THE RESTAURANT WHICH ADMITS THEY COULD NOT SEND IT BECASE IT WAS FINISHED. Below is tbe picture of philly cheese steak which is filled with fat, onions and tomatos. I have never heard of a philly cheese steak like that. Just garbage.

Date of experience: December 20, 2024Check your receipts. Past month Grubhub has been increasing service fee after order delivered when charge posts to account. Food price, tax and tip stay same, but their service fee increases. For example when orders placed fee $4. Final charge then $4.80. How is this not illegal? Beware!

I should actually thank them because they have forced me to stop using deliver. The convenience is not worth the cost. They also will do multiple stops before getting my luke warm to cold food to me.

Date of experience: September 18, 2024The FIRST time I used Grub Hub, I ordered as I usually do on Uber Eats. I got a text message that the Grub Hub driver needed a pin to complete my delivery. My husband was OUT FRONT at the time waiting for the driver. I texted the pop up pin to the driver believing he would then leave the order with my husband. DRIVER NEVER SHOWED UP. Food was never delivered. Money was kept. I informed Grub Hub and they just said they "notated" that the driver texted for the pin. When I complained that I wanted a refund because we receive NO FOOD, they said 48 hours had gone by since the delivery, so no refund. A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS. POOOOOOR SERVICE. THEIVES.
Products used:NEVER RECEIVED MY ORDER. They kept my money even when I contacted them and told them nothing was received.
Date of experience: October 21, 2024Order was delivered 1 hour early. The order was for 2 people and $144. Customer help would not acknowledge and when I sent them the receipt that was proof of delivery time they said it was not attached on e mail properly whatever that means.
Avoid GRUBHUB if possible.

Date of experience: September 10, 2024What a great offer I thought from Lyft... Grubhub discounts included. SO WRONG. Vacationing in Hawaii, and ordered dessert for my daughter after a long day out. Another wrong move. What was to be 20 minutes, turned into 1.5 hours. Driver did come in without signaling she had arrove. Took picture of dessert, looked around, and then took the dessert with her. Minutes later sending me text that she had delivered it. Customer service is not a thing for Grubhub. Needless to say, this shady driver will continue to do this to others to come, as they could care less when reported. And to see my 1 star matches all others reviews, seals the deal.

Date of experience: October 11, 2024I attempted to place an order on GrubHub, which I do regularly on Tuesdays and Fridays, but I was blocked. The application told me to contact customer care to place my order. GrubHub also removed all my payment information with no warning or explanation. I called customer care to get an explanation for what was happening, but they told me they could not help me. They said they would send my information to a different team but refused to let me know when I would hear back. The rep told me there was a security issue, so I demanded they let me know what was happening. When a rep tells you there is a security issue with your account, and all your payment information is missing, hearing "I can't help you" is not reassuring. I escalated to a manager who read from the same exact script. Five minutes later, I received an email saying my account had been closed, with no real explanation other than violating "Your Content and Conduct." Obviously... this is in retaliation for me telling the CS Manager the service I received in the call was unacceptable. I did not raise my voice. Used professional language. GH can even review the call and see that is the case. Verson G is the person responsible for the account closure, but of course, I cannot contact that person because that would be far too efficient and helpful. I have never filed a complaint with a restaurant or driver. I have never had an adverse interaction with any restaurant or driver. I have never received any notification of any problems. Just a notification that my account was closed and no attempt to explain what "security incident" caused my credit card information to be removed from my account. I want a full explanation of what happened and what is being done to address the "security incident."

They didn't tell me, for weeks I poured over Dominos and Subway and other " food/cardboard" franchises. Let's see what happens. This Company Is Hated Amongst New Bedford Business Owners.

Just another money-'grubbing' scheme to monetize and sell information to entities trying to convince me I did not know what I was missing by not buying their DRECK! I have lots of money! None for you. TTFN.
Date of experience: June 2, 2024I used Grubhub, consistently, for some months. In a nutshell, the orders were always late and, usually, I had to end up reheating food once delivered.
Problem: Drivers pick-up too many orders and results in constant delays. I've, actually, ordered food that was 1 to 2 miles from my residence. Then, watched - via the location app - see the driver go to 1 or 2 other, wait for minutes for another order. Finally, rather than deliver my order, as my place is closer, they go another 4 to 5 miles away to deliver that order, then drive all the way back to my place. Again, the order late and food near cold.
Needless to say - I've deleted my subscription and will not be using this company ever.
The only positive aspect of the company is it, really, has a very good customer service.

Gives discounts to frequent users on top of the discounts that one may get from the restaurant, which I find financially endearing. Also they have a very easy to use chat service which is online 24/7, to help check up on orders that are late or whatever else you may need help with. You can store credit card info, etc, making ordering in very simple. I sometimes put the order in from my droid and then it's there minutes after I arrive. Great stuff.

Kinda hard to mess this up if you ask me.
After reading some of the reviews, I see people have complained about the food, and it's presentation. Takeout is not known to be beautifully plated... it's usually shoved in a box.
They've also complained about the service... this persons job is to pick up the food from said restaurant & drive it to you.
My suggestion if you want 5 star service is to unearth yourself from the rock you've been hiding under since April and go get your own food!

Date of experience: September 7, 2020I am a loyal GrubHub user when it comes to getting delivery from places that don't deliver themselves. I have found after using it multiple times that it's very hit or miss. For example, there is one restaurant that always takes the full hour to deliver, and one time I got the wrong burger, but I'm blaming that on the restaurant because the rest of my order was fine. Then now I have found one place that I order from religiously, because I'm addicted, and the order is always here about 10-20 minutes sooner than expected. I've tried a couple other restaurants over my time of using GrubHub and they went fine as well. So my advice is to not let the bad reviews scare you, I'd just proceed with caution until you know how it works for you in your area.

So to follow up, I had initially called their customer service line to get this resolved before I posted my complaint. The CS rep had basically told me "too bad".
Finally, Grubhub did actually reach out to me as a result of my post. They have refunded me the price of the burger plus the extra 20 cents they'd charged me. They also said I could keep the $10 discount promo as well. So, they did actually step up and correct the situation eventually. Thank you, Grubhub.
